Solution:

In Oregon, loaded firearms must be carried in plain view or securely encased in the trunk or storage compartment. In California, handguns must be unloaded and secured in the trunk or vehicle storage compartment or locked in gun cases; rifles and shotguns must be unloaded and should be secured in cases.
