I employed Eagle Machine to bed a Sako 85 in a new McMillan and a Vanguard in a new Manners. He did a marginal job on the Sako by leaving a drip of bedding compound on the McMillan and left it to harden, he got grime on the barrel area of the rifle that won't clean off. The job he did on the Vanguard was absolutely unacceptable. He left bedding compound in the lettering on the action and barrel, he dripped bedding compound on the stock, he chipped part of the stock near the tang, he bent the trigger guard to make it work. The Manners has a groove in top portion of the stock, he installed it in such a way the bolt would not come out, he used an oversized screw driver on the rear screw of the trigger guard and marred the finish on the guard. The Manners was going to take some modifying to work for the Vanguard. I talked this over with him and he said it would not be a problem, apparently it was. The rifle is currently at the Manners shop getting bedded into the stock and they stated it would be 100% compatible with my rifle. Eagle Machine came highly recommeded and I was confident a better than good job would be done on my rifles when I left them. It was quite the opposite. I can not recommend this Gunsmith and will never return.
