I had already decided on a Glock to be my carry weapon because of the reliability and ease of safely carrying it. Due to an injury I had suffered some years earlier, carry weight was very important. If you carry an auto pistol it is imperitive that you carry at least 1 extra magizine. So I decided on a Glock-27, 40s&w, which comes with two 9 round mags, giving me 10 rounds in the weapon. I also bought a Glock-22, also 40s&w, which came with
two 13 round mags. One of those magazines would be my spare magazine because it's size would be hidden away in my pocket. Over a period of time I've bought several high capacity magazines,so by now I have several. Although many people say you should load your magazines down 1 or 2 rounds, I keep the ones I carry fully loaded. I keep 2 or 3 spare magazine springs handy, but so far I have
not had to replace any. I do rotate the mags I carry on a regular basis, and I also test them at the range regularly.
I am not advising anyone to keep their mags fully loaded if they don't want to. I am just telling you what has worked for me. I give all the credit to Glock for the long life of my springs.

My favorite is the 40 cal pistol. Great knock down power and plenty of choices these days for concealed carry.

I have a Ruger LCP .380 which I like VERY much, mostly because of it's small size. Yesterday just purchased a Ruger SR9c with Crimson Trace. I decided to bump up to a slightly larger caliber and firearm, just to experiment with whether I like it and can handle it. So far, so good. Really liked shooting it yesterday. It was accurate, easy to looad, and doesn't seem like it's too much for me....

I am a .45 acp, No I am not one of those why shoot twice guys. I simply think the recoil and pressure of a .45 being so slow and deliberate suits me better than the smaller calibers. If you wanted to torture me you would tell me the only caliber I could shoot would be a 9mm, well I would likely just give it all up. I hate the recoil of a 9mm and find it less predictable than the .45. I guess to use an analogy.....40, 9mm, .380 are all cups of coffee, while the .45 is espresso. No hate mail, this is just me and you should shoot whatever caliber best suits you regardless of what it is.....I would however like to see the guy that carries a .50 cal. that would have to be one big fella!

I am now, and have always been, a huge fan of .45 acp. I carry a Colt Commander and have other 1911s available should I have a wish for variety. If forced to pull on a bad guy, I see no reason to shoot more than once and, as they say, "if it ain't a Colt, its a copy."
