How do you respond to such a phrase?

For me I make two points both leading to my opinion that shooting for the knees is a horrible concept.

1 in Oklahoma the very use of a firearm is a lethal force decision. Shooting at the knees could be interpreted by a jury as a you not being in fear for your life leading to excessive force or other similar charges being placed against you.

2. the knees are a small moving target, under a adrenaline pumping situation such as a home intrusion, even some of the best shooters could not accurately hit the knees. Secondly if I were to draw my firearm it would only be because myself & or family are in imminent danger. If in imminent danger you don't want the bad guy to be able to kill you or your family, so if you shoot only shoot until the threat is over.

Yeah its nice to be able to be accurate, but I would rather test my accuracy on paper than in imminent danger.

what are your thoughts on this?

IF THE INDIVIDUAL DON'T HAVE A WEAPON, THERE IS NO NEED TO DRAW YOURS. IF THERE IS IMMEDIATE DANGER SHOOT FOR THE CENTER OF MASK. I WAS ALWAYS TAUGHT TO SHOOT AT THE UPPER PART CENTER OF THE BODY EVEN IN A MILITARY COMBAT SITUATION IF THE PERSON IS STANDING, THAT IS THE LARGEST TARGET. I HAVE READ CASES WHERE A INTRUDER SUED THE INDIVIDUAL FOR INJURING HIM. USING LETAL FORCE IS A SPLIT SECOND DECISION THAT CAN COST YOU YOUR FREEDOM. AGAIN AVOID THE SITUATION IF ANY WAY POSSIBLE AND KNOW YOUR LAWS BEFORE EVEN OWNING A WEAPON.

Shoot to stop the threat. Any use of a weapon can be construed as lethal force. If the treat survives you can be sued. Beyond that, if the threat survives, the

2 shots aimed center mass. If the target keeps moving then that classifies as still being a threat and then 1 shot will be delivered to the head.
