  1. ATI FX45 GI Range Report (1000 rounds)

    1000 rounds.

Well, that didn't take too long!

Before buying the ATI FX45 GI Commander length pistol (pictured at the top of my blog) I spent a lot of time researching it online (and other lower priced 1911's) - from product reviews to forum threads and everything in between and in the end I chose the ATI over the Rock Island due to one fact - The Rock Island at my LGS didn't have the extended beavertail and the ATI did. Truth be told, I think I've made ...
  2. If You're Going To Write An Opinion Piece On Gun Control, Please, Do Some Research!

Gun control zealots like to believe they have it all figured out, coming to the conclusion that the only thing they need to do is make an emotional plea for gun control and the rest of the world will follow. Hell, they've even gone so far as to pay consultants to come up with a "playbook" to help push their agenda!

Ammoland quotes the "playbook" under a section labeled “Overall Messaging Guidance,” the guide lists as its number one “Key Messaging ...
  3. Leaping The Grand Canyon For The Want Of A Rattlesnake

And as you sit with them and contemplate gun ownership, ruminate over their lethality, ponder the vagaries and the responsibilities ...
  4. Why Will I Carry?

Those friends and family who’ve known me most of my life may have been surprised by my sudden jump into gun ownership, but the reality is, I was never against guns, I'd just never felt the need to keep a gun in my home if I wasn’t able to carry it on my person on a daily basis.

I never saw the point of keeping a loaded gun in the home with children around, the risk vs reward factor, for me, was too high. Some of the thoughts that went into that decision were based on, in ...
  5. Interesting Books I Think You Should Read

Not sure how many people would be interested but I thought I'd list a couple of books I've read recently that are either about Carrying, Guns, and/or Self Defense in general:
    • The Gun Digest Book of Concealed Carry: Massad Ayoob
This first one by Massad Ayoob is a pretty good read. He pretty much covers the basic of what you need to know about carrying and also throws in some stories to help support his ideas. He illustrates some tactical aspects of self-defense, practical information
