    Need a good shoulder holster

I am looking for a good shoulder holster for my husband. He will be carrying a HK 45c. He is 6'0" about 280lbs. Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Galco Leather

Galco leather sells an excellent shoulder holster. I have one. You can buy different holsters for ther harness. You can buy different magazines or speed loader pouches for the harness. Here is the link and phone number for Galco.

I'll second the Galco shoulder holsters. There are a few models to choose from. I personally carry my 1911 in a Galco Miami Classic II system. Right or left draw with a double magazine pouch. Any of the Galco shoulder rigs are comfortable for me, however, I'm 5'6" and 170 lbs. :-)
If you can't hit it with 8, you sure as hell aren't going to hit it with 21.

I am very happy with mine for a full size CZ 75B Stainless.

I really like mine: comfortable, easy to use.

I like the design of the Galco Miami Vice Shoulder Holsters - but have had problems. Their design of the swivel piece and swivels on their holsters have had problems, with excess leather preventing the swivels from doing what they were designed for - to swivel. Most frustrating, was in contacting Galco about my problem, was that they felt it wasn't a problem, to them. I had to take a pair of wire cutters and trim the excess leather under the swivels to get them to do so.

Now, I have a problem with their offside ammo/light carrier (two mags/one Surefire-like light), with not ENOUGH leather. In order to get my 6P light into it, I have to force it into the holder, and then I can not draw it out with one hand; I have even completely removed the adjustment screws and still it is almost impossible to draw the light out. I have used two of their tubes of "draw ease" to smooth and loosen the draw - without effect. In contacting Galco, it is always my imagination, my doing something wrong.

Their customer service SUCKS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GALCO TO ANYONE UNTIL THEY FIX THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO FIX FIELD PROBLEMS!

Stop! Wait! I have and have had several Galco holsters, including their Miami Vice style shoulder holster system. Upon receipt, I found their "swivels" did anything but. There was an excessive amount of leather under the swivels that prevented them to swivel beyond a very short amount (approx 5 - 8 degrees). The idea behind their system is to allow a great amount of movement in their shoulder straps/holster preventing binding, and increasing comfort. I asked, by email, Galco as to what I should do to return it for repair/replacement. The response, from a Bill, was that he looked at what was on the shelf at Galco and could not find the same problem; meaning that what he found on his shelf was not what I had on hand.

He did not ask me to send it back for a replacement nor offer a refund. I expected that Galco would say to send what I had back and they would replace it. Not a word from this Bill. I had to take a pair of wire cutters and cut/trim out the excess leather under the swivels to allow a reasonable amount of turning (now about 60 to 80 degrees). Having to cut the excess leather, I am sure that any "warrenty" would no longer apply.

Later, I ordered an offside magazine/flashlight carrier. Guess what! This time instead of too much leather, it was cut so tight that I have to force my Surefire 6P into it - AND CAN NOT PULL IT OUT WITH ONE HAND! I literally have to take off my shoulder holster and use two thumbs to force my light out. I have used two tubes of their "Draw Eze" lube with no effect, so now I have an expensive piece of leather that is worthless.

Stay away from Galco until they begin backing their products. In their catalog, they use "lawyer speak" that, basicaly says, all sales are final.

Since there are SO MANY other manufacturers out there, check them out.

I have a few Galco holsters including the Miami Classic Shoulder Holster system. Never had any problems with any of them.

    Shoulder Holster Article from NRA.

Here is an article from the NRA regarding Shoulder Holsters. It's a good read and gives a bunch of information.

Hey, I recognize the holster that is pictured at the top of that article. Although I think I would recognize it better if it was being used with a Glock 22.
