How many carry a Glock or XD with one in the chamber

Just wondering how many people carry a XD or Glock with one in the chamber? I have a XD but feel very unsafe carrying with one in the chamber. I have several 1911 .45 that I would feel uncomfortable carrying with out one in the chamber.

I have a XD-m 40 and wear it in a Galco Fletch. No problem. I was worried about that as well, but with the safeties and care... Ain't no thang. But..... You comfort level is important!

I have a Glock 23 and I always carry with one in the chamber. I feel completely comfortable with the safe-trigger and DA. I use a holster that completely covers the trigger. I have practiced drawing enough to develop the muscle-memory to keep my finger along the side of my gun and off the trigger. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I'm considering carrying my XD for the summer just because of it being easier to conceal. After carrying a 1911 for so long it's just a little different not having a thumb safety.

I am willing, to place either a glock or an XD, with a round in the chamber under my pillow and go to sleep. Both are very safe firearms.

Pistols discharge if you your finger on the start button, and pull.

With the xd, there is also the beaver tail safety.

My wife will not enjoy the idea, so I will be sleeping alone.

If i carry a semi, it is carried condition one.

I think it is silly to carry any pistol for self defense without one in the chamber. It is safe if you don't pull the trigger, and lethal if you need to...instantly. Makes no sense to me to have to rack the slide.

I don't carry as a rule but I have a Glock 17 that goes with me when my wife and I travel. It's in my overnight bag with a fully loaded 16 round magazine and a round in the chamber .
I think the Glock is the safest pistol I own because of the trigger tang safety. With a round in tha chamber even if you drop it it won't discharge and you can't forget to put the safety on since it's built in.

I carry a Glock as a back up to my HK. Or my HK as back up to my Glock all depends on which I pull first. Anyway it does not matter what auto I carry (they are all DBL action) I always have a round chambered.

i carry both my xd subcom and m&p with one in the tube. no person is going to wait for you to be like... " hold on... wait... im not ready yet. let me chamber a round first then rob me."

if im in the house then nope, but the shotgun is always ready to go. an xd is one of the safest pistols out there.

    hope it helps!

I've had formal training and been around guns long enough to stay away from the "on" switch until I need it. It's just a little different having the safety on the trigger. I'll be O.K. with it I was the same way with the 1911 when I started carrying it. After some time carrying this one It will be no big deal.
