Thread: What's The Most Popular Concealed Weapon Handgun Caliber?

  1. Re: What's The Most Popular Concealed Weapon Handgun Caliber?

I like my XDS.45 ACP when I wanna carry in warmer weather. Sig P229 .40S&W (old school, not the new model with extractor issues) in colder weather. Federal HSTs, 230 gr in .45 and 155 gr in my Sig.

  3. Had previously said my 9mm .. because I don't have a .45 yet ....... Like I said .. "yet" ... Just got a Kimber Ultra CDP II in .45 ACP. What a sexy gun and will absolutely be my carry ... I know others have had a problem with it feeding. No issues yet. I had one fail to feed when I was putting it into battery with Gold Dot hollow points ... It was on me for releasing the slide too gently. I pulled the slide and let it go and no issues since ...

  4. Have actually been carrying a .380 and at times a .32 and feel both will do the job. I know, americans are of the idea that if you don't blow a huge hole in someone it won't stop them. Well how many of you have had a round or two in center mass from a .380 or .32?

  5. 45 ACP for me. My dad was a cop and I have shot his glock 23 and 27 (.40), 38 special and 357 magnum and most recently his 9mm shield. All are great guns. I have shot my bothers Sig P229 (.40). All I can say is I shoot my Glock 30 (.45 ACP) way more comfortably and, more importantly, accurately than all those other guns.

.45 ACP during the "hot months" and .40 during the fall/winter. Just because my P229 isn't exactly the most concealable pistol sans layers of clothes. My little XDS though, whew, IWB holster no one can tell except a LEO looking VERY carefully. I won't go below .40 because I've seen what a .380 does...not a whole lot. And a 9mm, wouldn't even try it. If a BG is so much as clipped by a .45 ACP HST +P 230 gr. round, that scumbag will be on his ass in no time flat

  7. I stick with the 45 but I am more accurate on the range with the 9mm

  8. Every gun and every type of ammo is a compromise of some sort. But generally I like 9mm as the best all-around.

Oh yea my Sig P226 9mm was (sold it) the most accurate pistol I've ever shot but I don't trust the 9mm round, especially if someone is like 275 lbs and on bath salts or PCP. I'm a huge Sig fan, looking at picking up a P220R Carry if I can find one for $700 or less (CPO is fine w/ me) or a P245 (even more rare). My P229 in .40 is extremely accurate. I go with .40S&W w/ 155 gr. HSTs in my P229 DA/SA or my .45 ACP.

  10. My wife's Ruger LCR .357 Magnum. Game over.

I have sold more LC9s in 2012 then anything else. Now evry thing is flying off the shelf. My CHL Classes fill up in minutes.
I recomend revolvers if you shoot little. Semi's if you practice lots. I have my own range and i carry a full size 1911 owb. I can carry any thing I want but in my opinion it is still the best
