Who Knows you carry, and another ?? WWYD

I guess there are more questions than the one...

OK, so the general question is, Who Know's you carry? How often does your circumstances edit how you do?

Like, if you are going to friends house for dinner, and they are anit-gun, (if you know any of those) Do you not carry? leave it in the car?

Do you treat it as don't ask don't advertise, Don't tell?

My parents know I carry. Dad is an avid hunter and as GOP as you can get, but doesn't want me carrying at his house, so I leave it in the car. I have only gone one place with him (Cabels's) since I started carrying again, I left it at home that day. I am going out today (This is too soon a notice to get responses before I go, but that's ok). He and I are going to a Classic car auction. he might ask if I am carrying, he likely won't. It is in a good area of town but we drive through several bad areas. i haven't decided if I am gong to carry today. The only risk with not telling him is if the auction wand's people, I will obviously have to ask him for the keys to lock it up.

Before I ramble on and on, I think you know what I am asking, What would you do?

As for the rest of my friends, I usually DADT. Most would be ok, but a few would NOT (and no, when I go to their home for dinner, I leave it in my car)

I really don't care who knows or who likes the fact that I am carrying.

Who Knows you carry, and another

Below is just my personal philosophy and practice, opinions may differ...

"Generally", people don't know I carry. That said, some of my close friends and family know because the subject matter comes up naturally in conversation.

As for "carrying" around or with a friend or family member who does not want me to? I can't say I've really ran into that. I carry 99.99%-100% of the time it's legal for me to do so. If I go to a friend or family member's house I don't ask, I just carry as I normally do. Under Kansas law, if my friend or family member noticed I was carrying in their house, they can legally request I disarm or leave, not complying would become "trespassing". I've had friends ask me if I carried here or there, or how often, are you carrying now? that type of thing. I don't directly answer that question. My usual answer is, if it's legal for me to carry, you can assume I'm armed. BUT, I don't bring it up first, nor ask for a blessing.

You can find out if events or places allow you to carry, by making a few phone calls.

You should carry 100% of the time, Some kind of weapon.

A lot of events will let you carry if you tell them, before you go through, that you have a permit to carry. and show them your license.

If it' legal I'm usually carrying. Many of my friends know, but it's pretty common place here. Usually it's not brought up and I DADT. I can't think of a friend that is anit-gun, but if I didn't I just wouldn't let them know I even carry.

A few gun friendly friends know I carry and they do too. Otherwise I don't advertise it.

I carry anytime I can. The people that know I carry are my friend (who took the carry class with me), girlfriend (as she sees me getting dressed), family, and a few other people. My boss knows I have a carry permit, but doesn't want me to carry when I work, but if I run in to help or just stop by I have it on. As for people I don't know, I tell them if they need to know. If you are riding in my car you have a 95% chance of finding out (ie we get pulled over and I have to tell the officer or if we go to a place that doesn't allow me to carry). Other than that it 's my business.

Close family members know I carry and most of them assume I have it on me at all times. Other than the family members, I do not advertise it and do not plan to.
