    CCW Non-Rez AZ/FL/UT

I made this up to see what I need for non-resident reprocity for Az/Fl and Ut. I welcome any and all corrections I may have over looked. Thought I would share.

I found a discrepancy here. The top link (USA Carry) tells me that GA does not recognize my KS permit. The handgunlaw.us link tells me that GA does recognize my KS permit. Gonna have to check to see which is right.

I have a VA non-resident now, but also plan to get an AZ non-resident permit soon and then an Ohio resident permit. I find these give me pretty good coverage on states.

OK. Well, I check with a GA government site and they indicate that they do not have reciprocity with KS.

  7. i am really confused. can't you buy a Concealed Carry Weapon in all states? you just have to reside in that state, and not have anything that can keep you from carrying or possessing one. what am i missing?

As of yesterday, July 1, 2013, that is incorrect. Georgia now, by law, will honor the KS permit, because as of July 1 Kansas began honoring the GA permit.

    Kansas Attorney General:
Out-of-State License Recognition - Concealed Carry - Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt

Beginning July 1, 2013, the State of Kansas will recognize all “valid” concealed carry licenses (or permits, cards, etc.) that are issued by another State or the District of Columbia. HOWEVER, there are two important caveats to that general rule: (1) this recognition only extends to individuals who are not residents of Kansas. If you are passing through Kansas to another state, or staying in Kansas temporarily for business or pleasure – a valid CCH license from another jurisdiction will be honored beginning July 1, 2013; and (2) this recognition will only allow the license holder to carry a concealed handgun. Any other defensive weapons carried by the non-Kansas license holder must, as with all Kansas residents, be carried in accordance with Kansas law while they are within Kansas’ borders.
    Georgia statute:
    OCGA 16-11-126 on GeorgiaPacking.org

    O.C.G.A. 16-11-126
Having or carrying handguns, long guns, or other weapons; license requirement; exceptions for homes, motor vehicles, and other locations and conditions; penalties for violations
    (e) Any person licensed to carry a handgun or weapon in any other state whose laws recognize and give effect to a license issued pursuant to this part shall be authorized to carry a weapon in this state, but only while the licensee is not a resident of this state; provided, however, that such licensee shall carry the weapon in compliance with the laws of this state.
    Kansas Attorney General:
    http://ag.ks.gov/docs/default-source....pdf?sfvrsn=14

NOTE: Again, on and after July 1, 2013, Kansas will honor all “valid” non-Kansas CCH licenses for non-Kansas residents. As such, the above list should expand thereafter to include states such as Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming; those are states that require their license to be honored by Kansas before they will honor the Kansas CCH.
The handgunlaw.us is up to date:
    http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/kansas.pdf

With the changes in Kansas laws (7/1/13) on carrying firearms Handgunlaw.us recommends that you first read the FAQs from the Kansas Attorney General. AG FAQs. For additional information from the Kansas Attorney General click Here. Also be aware that the State CCW Pamphlet in the links section is the old version of Kansas Law. The KS AG should update it shortly.
    ...
Kansas Honors all other states Permit/Licenses.

The reciprocity agreement that AZ sent to OH specified that OH not recognize non-resident AZ licenses.
