Thread: Concealed Handgun Recommendations?

  1. Concealed Handgun Recommendations?

I already have a Taurus PT92 and my wife has a S&W 38 Special revolver. I am wanting something smaller to have in my car or to carry. I have my concealed carry permit. I would like to stay around $300. I do have some possible options shown below, but some of these are very hard to find. I want to stay with 9MM. Any and all feedback and suggestions are welcome.

    1) Taurus G2 - $275 or G3
    2) Ruger EC9S - $250
    3) S&W M&P Shield 9MM - $330
    4) Stoeger STR-9 Compact - $300
    5) Ruger Security 9 - $300
    6) FMK 9C1 - $230
    7) Kel-Tec P9 - $260 (no manual safety)
    8) SCCY CPX-2CBDE CPX2 - $250 (no manual safety)

SCCY - a little snappy but super reliable. Made in the USA and lifetime transferrable warranty.

    My 2 cents.

The issue will be if I can find any. I am checking gundeals constantly, but most are out of stock. I will check a local gun shop next week, but I don't have much hope.

Gunbroker.com is usually the best place to find high demand firearms.

I found the SCCY CPX-2 locally for $220.

That is a solid price. Good find.

  9. The dealer will be getting a Taurus G2C in a week or so that I want to see first. It is $40 more than the SCCY. Two things I am concerned with the SCCY about the trigger pull (9 pounds) and it being snappy. I want to make sure my wife can handle it.

  10. BassPro has the S&W M&P 9MM Shield Performance 1.0 for $310 in stock.

  11. Recommend SCCY without a doubt. Though, in the current situation, it might be difficult to find one but I think a few websites have them on discount. It had been my favorite.
