Thread: What Do You Carry?

  1. I carry a Springfield XD 45 service model. With one extra magazine, its nice to know I've got 26 rounds of HIGHLY reliable bone-crushing .45 JHP force.

I do not carry it for CC though... instead I opt for the mini Glock 27 in .40S&W. Much easier to conceal... and lighter too. My wife carries the Glock 23 in .40S&W and though recoil was pretty stout for her at first, I remedied this by changing out the OEM plastic guide rod for a stainless steel one. Also, changed out the OEM 17lb. sping to a 20lb er. It makes the slide a little harder to pull back but it helps tame the recoil of the .40 round. Tell your husband to get a tungsten guide rod and 20lb. spring for his G20, it will take the bite out of the recoil of that 10mm round.

Morning Glockster...passed on the info to the husband. He said the recoil doesn't bother him, maybe from all the time in the field in the military shooting the bad guys...he is a hell of a shot and I see why he got a few of the awards that he did while he was serving. I don't find the recoil on my own fire arm bad, but if I did go in and ask about the OEM spring for mine, would it help me as I sometimes tend to drift when I am target practicing and can't figure out why. Doesn't happen often thank goodness.

One thing he has insisted on, is I at least know how to use and shoot his weapon and the rifles in the house so I have. I can't say I like all of them but if it came down to protecting my family while he was gone I can do so.

What do you carry on a daily basis

I'm kind of an old school guy so my daily carry is a S&W Model 36 .38 sp - dependable, accurate, double action. Sometimes during the warm months I carry a Kel Tec P-3AT because I can just slip it in my pants pocket.

As soon as my CCW arrives I will be carrying my M&P 9c in a MTAC holster. I also put my Ruger P94 on my permit but I haven't found a holster I like for it yet. Not sure if I want it OWB or in a shoulder rig.
