someone please explain to me why they would use +P rounds in a short bbl handgun.
I carry my Sig P239 or my wife's Ruger LCP. My holster is a High Noon horsehide IWB and my wife's is a DeSantis Nemesis.

I give you three distinct and clear reasons:
1. Obama
2. Democrats and Congress
3. The state of this nation now and into the future
I vote for potentially better projectile penetration and expansion due to increased velocity. It makes for a really bitchin' muzzle flash too.
Better yet. How about you share your expertise and list all the reasons not to use it in a gun that's stucturally designed for it.
Well actually, "they" do (and have for quite some time)...
Heavy .40 +P Smith & Weson Pistol & Handgun Ammunition
Let me re-phrase, there is no SAAMI specification for +P ammo in 40 S&W. Just like 9mm +P+ does not conform to SAAMI specs.
If you'll fire a +P cartridge into a large wet phone phone book from a STEEL, short-barreled .38 Spcl. revolver and then recover the bullet you'll see for yourself why I chose it for my own concealed carry ammo.
