That seems to be the root of the problem with alot of people. More and more people seem to be finding reasons to recognize less and less of the law than ever before.

Some would reach the sweeping conclusion that since a WASP old guy is not in the White House, all bets are off.

Well, seeing as it just happened last Friday, here's my story....

Last Friday at 1700 hours. Checked my mother into a nursing home. Informed the staff that she could not walk, and could only contribute about 60% to any sort of a transfer, to, or from a chair.

At 2017 hours they called and said she had fallen while trying to get up, and dislocated her hip. I got there about 25 minutes later, and they had still NOT called an ambulance. She was laying in her bed, UNATTENDED with a HUGE bruise, and swelling above her left eye. I stepped to the hall and demanded an ice pack and the nurse walked in and reached behind mom's pillow and pulled out an ice pack. I asked if mom was supposed to administer that ice pack herself, and the nurse just looked at me... I ordered her out. the charge nurse, (male) came in and asked what was going on. I asked him why he hadn't called an ambulance.... he said he had paperwork to do first. I told him I ought to come across his desk and introduce him to the floor, and he ran out front and called the police. I called an ambulance on my cell phone, and the ambulance arrived at the same time as the police. While the guys were loading my mother, the cop asked me for ID. I handed him my driver's license, and carry license, and told him what happened. He gave me back my licenses, and told me to go care for my mother. The cop came to the hospital, and thanked me for not escalating things. Then he asked me how I liked my 1911. He saw it when my shirt rode up while I was helping the ambulance crew. He went inside and checked on my mom, then told me he hoped my evening improved.

The two nurses no longer work there, and the cop and I are shooting at my range a week from this coming Saturday.........

We train to treat every gun as loaded, why? Because you can't tell the difference at a glance and a gun doesn't care who it shoots.

I treat every cop I met as looking for a reason to arrest me, why? Because I can't tell the difference at a glance and I've had a bad cop try to put me in jail for a crime he knew I didn't commit.

Why should I NOT be very careful what I say whenever I interact W/ cop? Yes, I am fully aware that not every cop is trying to get me to give him PC to search my car , just as I am aware that not every gun I see is loaded , however, for my own protection I follow the first rule of firearms safety & treat every single gun I see as though it is loaded and I exercise due caution I simply carry the same philosophy in to my dealings (few & far between though they may be) W/ the law

Bottom Line 90% of your problems W/ cops can be solved by following a simple rule Don't talk to them.

Your last sentence...what the heck kind of statement is that? I'll tell you one thing...I'll take take those WASP old guys over that Socialist/Marxist anytime. If that was a shot at white people, it didn't work. I hope Obama isn't the best shot Blacks have, because if he is, Blacks are in trouble politically. He doesn't represent the hard working, socially conscious, family oriented, law-abiding blacks that I know.

Hey treo: Your last reply just reinforced my comments about your opinions on this issue--have at it. I, however, truly feel bad for you (yes, I know--your reply is" don't do me any favors") that you have to somehow live your life with this almost paranoid approach to LEOs and probably everyone else around you who you do not know and who may be carrying a firearm. Nough said--have a nice life--peace brother.

Then again, 90% of cops wouldn't be needed if everyone followed simple rules.

Just try remembering why they're out there in the first place.

Here is a great example of being in a nice neighborhood, and explaining what the 2nd amendment is really all about!!!

Watch the smug look at :54 in this video that Chuck Schumer (NY) gives this lady telling her tragic story, its the jerks like this in NY that anger me the most.

Police have rules and procedures they are to follow. Most of the time they do and any encounter you have will not end in a GG/BG scenario unless you have broken the law. Then all bets are off.

In more than 50 years of driving I have enter-reacted with the police 6 times. I committed some traffic violation. Twice I have received tickets the rest were warnings.

Four times I have had dealings with the police where I committed no crimes and only once did the police come off as an overbearing belligerent tin god. That happened more than 40 years ago and to this day every time a see a LEO I think of him.
The Second Amendment is about the right to be able to protect oneself from all who would do us harm including Legislators! I came into this world screaming and covered in someone Else's blood, don't care if I go out the same way
