    This is the same as it is in Virginia. The threat doesn't even have to be found to be genuine, only your perception that you are in imminent danger for your safety.
    In the final seconds of your life, just before your killer is about to dispatch you to that great eternal darkness, what would you rather have in your hand? A cell phone or a gun?

    As a couple of you have mentioned, I too can no longer run or fight as I was once capable of doing because of my knees. This is a major reason why I carry openly. I want my visible sidearm to be a deterrent to those who might wish to do me harm and tell them perhaps they may want to select another victim or just leave the area.
