Thread: Wal-mart out of the gun business

  1. #11
If a person buys products in another state, how is that helping the state they live in? The taxes (and there are always taxes) benefit the state they are charged in, and benefit that state. As a Delaware resident, I am not interested in PA. and especially NY. There is almost no gun or ammo you can't buy in Delaware, and even if you can't buy from Wal-mart, you will be supporting the local economy of Delaware, and the taxes will benefit you and your neighbors. Delaware buy in Delaware is my creedo. I do not have any horse in the race in MD.,PA., NJ., VA., or NY. Let them worry about their own state. If they are so great, why don't they honor Delaware Concealed Carry Permits?

Probably the same reason DE doesn't honor PA's license to carry. Everyone is dealt their own set of cards and society makes the rules of the card game, however, we all get to play the hand we are dealt. You choose to be pro-DE... great if that works for you. Me, I chose to get a UT carry permit as well, and now do have reciprocity with DE and can enjoy DE if I care to, and travel across an imaginary line back and forth armed and legal-like. I don't get into pissing contests about whose state is better... since they mostly suck since they mostly have infringed on my 2A rights with permits (except you VT, and technically a handful of others no where near us). You, choose to stay in DE and only buy things in DE regardless if it were less money elsewhere. That's cool, you have your reasons and you are playing your hand the way you see fit. I've played my hand the way I see fit.

However, your original question to the "out-of-staters" on a public forum thread about an international company, was why we're posting on your precious DE forum when we weren't from DE. I answered that well, and like most liberally-minded people (not saying you are one), you changed the question rather than dealing with the answer, which I believe I have answered just as well as the previous question.

    Wolf_fire,
We in Delaware would like to send Joe (Bozo the Clown)Biden back to you, so we aren't tagged as his home state anymore. Truth is PA. is.

Go ahead, maybe he'll discharge his shotgun illegally, and we can land him in jail. Although, that must be a terrible burden to bear that he actually owns property and is considered a citizen of DE. ;)

That's ok, we don't consider anyone that lives north of the canal part of Delmarva. They are city folks. I once knew a member of the Maryland legislature that wanted to make eastern Shore Maryland and Virginia, Delaware (below the canal) a seperate State Of Delmarva. Anyone that wanted to enter had to pay a hefty toll at the State of Delmarva side of the connecting 5 bridges. It would be a Conservative state, with "shall issue" CCW, and open carry. We would not have any tax money supporting Wilmington, Blatimore or Richmond. The capital would be either Dover, Easton or Cambridge. I have been around for almost 70 years and have always lived on Delmarva, and in a" Delmarva state of mind". That's a "lower, slower Delaware", God's Country, Sho' nough, easy livin' combination. City folks not allowed to stay more that 4 days at a time. Heaven on Earth.

Don't blame Wal Mart. Blame those states for basically taking away all incentives to be an FFL dealer in that state.

Exactly my point about states. PA has been referred to as Pittsburgh on one side, Philadelphia on the other and Alabama in the middle. We'd love to have NJ annex Filthadelphia and let ourselves run the state more effectively. It's interesting the area of DE that you deem less than desirable is bordered by MD, NJ, and Filthadelphia.

Recent poll shows Wilmington De. to be at #8 in the top 10 most unfriendly cities in America.

Talked to a clerk in the Sporting Goods Dept. Friday, and was asking about the chance of Walmart getting rifles and ammo back in the stores in delaware and he said as long as the law that says FFL agents have to do transfers of guns, even if they weren't sold at the store, there will be no rifle or ammo for rifles or pistols sold in Delaware Walmarts. Thanks Delaware Legislators, for screwing something else up. He said they get, once in a while , a box of assorted ammo in that fits pistols and rifles, but its a few of this and a few of that, and that's it.
