    Gadsden Flag LIcesne Plate

I am considering moving forward with the long process of getting a Gadsden Snake Florida License plate adopted in Florida. I am in NC at the moment finishing out my Army contract, but will be permanently in FL this Spring or Summer. Does anyone have any idea if something like this is in the works already? I think it will be a big seller and the proceeds go to the organization of our choice. I am sure there are some Gun folks in FL who could use the cash to advance the cause. Any thoughts? Don't tread on me!

I'm in FL and would buy one. I have a fish plate right now. I'm not sure what would be involved in this. Have you found anything out yet?

The process is a little tricky, but certainly not impossible. Firstly you need a design that complies with the Regulation, an organization that will sponsor the Plate, and about $60,000 to pay the department to print the plates. All the proceeds from the sale go to an organization of your choosing. The most difficult thing is, of course, raising 60k. Not impossible, though. Look at all the whacked out plates that you can already buy in Florida! I am working on it here when I can to figure out how to get it done. The Dept of Transportation is a bear to deal with via phone. They aren't real good at returning calls; go figure.

  6. Looks like you'll have plenty of time to work on the process. Florida will issue no new specialty plates until 2014.
