    Walgreen's Discriminates Against Gun Owners

This post is from another board I frequent, the NJCSD. I thought you guys should know, and maybe shop accordingly...

    I Live in Belleville, NJ

My Brother had a problem with Walgreens located at 345 Franklin Ave., Belleville, NJ

Let me start the story off by saying discrimination comes in many different forms (color, race, religious beliefs etc.)

My brother & I are both gun collectors and members of the NRA, Gun Owners of America and active in the gun community.

My brother needed to take pictures of his firearms, which are all legally purchased, he needed the pictures for insurance reasons, and therefore my brothers decided to take the pictures and email them to Walgreens and get them printed.

As his wife goes to Walgreens to pick up the pictures, the cashier gives her a hard time about the photos and tells her that they would not print them! Because they find the photos offensive. As she returns and explains to my brother, he decided to go to Walgreens and talk to the manager about what just happened.

The manager had the insolence to tell him that he personally found the pictures offensive and so did his staff. When my brother asked if it was Walgreens policy not to print pictures of guns he refused to give my straight answer. My brother has contacted Walgreens Main Office and they said that they would get back to him, that was Tuesday night 12/29/09. He has also contacted the NRA & GOA about this but neither of the organizations seems to have a straight answer. So I recommend boycotting Walgreens, since they seem to be antigun. I will post again about this issue as my brother & I will not stop until they provide a reason why Walgreens discriminates against law abiding gun owners.

    Sincerely,

    Jame

Thanks for the info... I have carried into Walgreens many times unbeknownst to the management and staff...lol. I will avoid shopping there from now on.

  4. +1 for me too till I find out more its off limits.

Before we react to the allegations, maybe we should do some investigating on our own. I'll email a few gun photos to Walgreen's and see if they'll print them. I know a couple of the managers at the local Walgreen's stores. When I pick up the photos (assuming that they print them), I'll ask about their company policy.

Let's not over react to something we saw on the internet. I find it strange that I've NEVER had any problems carrying in any of the Walgreen's stores where I had been legally carrying. I find it strange that they make no mention of carrying a firearm into their store, yet make an issue of it being "offensive" to print photos, especially since they would profit from printing such photos. They won't necessarily profit from me walking into their store.

I'm not discrediting the information regarding Walgreen's refusal to print the photos, simply saying that we should check it out on our own prior to simply reacting to something we read on the internet.

The manager at my local Walgreens is a veteran, CC'r and avid gunman.
I think this was just a typical North Eastern Libtard.

Whether or nor a place will print photos of anything is "So.....1950's"...lol.

Anyone with a computer should spend a few more bucks and get a printer along with a digital camera...problem solved. Nowadays, "acceptable" printers and digital cameras are very reasonably priced and one can "shoot and print" anything they want to.

Well, your mileage may vary, and it's likely that this is a function of the LibTard mentality so pervasive here in the Northeast, and New Jersey in particular. As for carrying into the store...if you carry concealed, they're not going to know. If the Law allows you to carry openly, there may be no reason to stop you (in fact, they may think you're a cop). None of this means you should "boycott" your local store, only that you might want to check and find out of your local store (or store manager) has a bias against us. I know, for example, that my local CVS doesn't carry gun magazines, although they do carry magazines like Playboy and Penthouse. When I asked them about it, they said it wasn't their "policy" to carry such reading material.

thanks for the heads up Ektarr, the manager you spoke to is prolly clueless that the store he is managing is doing more damage to your community than any honest or dishonest gun owning citizen.

a warning to you all of my impending tangent....

I am all for avoiding wallgreens all together and have been for years. Ektarr, aside from your experience there, they are one of the largest drug dealers in America no better than any mexican or columbian drug cartel IMO. they are the open doors to the public that assist the FDA and medicare in the disintegration of american citizens by offering what ever poison your looking for. Can any of you out there even watch a commercial break on TV without seeing a drug advertisement? I challenge you to try and go a day with out hearing the phrase "ask your doctor about (drug of choice)"....in my area wallgreens is more prominent and easier to find than starbucks coffee co.

whatever happened to finding the cure for disease? I guess its true that it's more profitable to just treat the symptom, one drug prescription at a time.
I am amazed that our society accepts this crap. Are we Americans really being told that drugs are good and guns are bad?

In your next argument with an anti gun nut, just ask them if they shop at wallgreens. when they say "yes" ask them if they realize that fatalities from over the counter and prescription drug overdoses far exceed that of ANY accidental or intentional shooting fatalities (including murder by use of a hand gun) in the USA. then ask them why they give their money to support a company that enables this to happen......anyway you get my point.

I hate wallgreens Ektarr LOL as you can tell just reading your post about them has triggered a bit of humorous unorganized anger. apologies for the rant, but you were warned LOL.

if we could only be hearing commercials that said "Ask your gunsmith about....." God bless us all

Just for the Record, this experience was not mine, but is from another poster on the board I referenced. The quoted words are his.
