It wasn't my intention to open a Constitutional can of worms... I was simply suggesting that a certain modicum of common sense be used in the interpretation. Taking every word of a legal document literally can have it's pitfalls as well.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Taken it it's most literal sense the Second Amendment guarantees this right to every illegal alien, drug runner, gang banger, bank robber, terrorist and convicted felon you can muster. Nowhere do I see that there is even one single qualification or exemption.

Personally I believe in the right to keep and bare arms. Again, I believe, or if you would rather, IMO there need to be some sort of restrictions placed on the amendment as it was originally written. If this makes me a socialist... then so be it.

People like this numb nutts is why we have so much trouble with people getting the wrong impression about gun owners.

LOL. He was probably working under cover... and now because of jack-asses like US, who are publicising his misfortune, he will never be able to work undercover again. Poor guy.

Numb Nuts for sure... some people are just mystified by the thought of having a gun on their side and feel the need to constantly hold it.

I believe we can safely assume that he has never been through ANY of the NRA firearm safety courses. I doubt he would have pulled the trigger if he had.

Umm...you don't think there are already plenty of restrictions on this right?

I don't see the problem, here, This guy acted like a numbnuts and will probably forfeit his RKBA. Why start talking about restricting an inalienable right because of this episode?

If this is how you really think, I would have to respectfully disagree with you. ANYONE has the right to defend themself. I DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE should have to get a CWL to be able to carry, openly or concealed.

First of all, if this is true, the guy was a complete idiot and should have been arrested much sooner than when he discharged his weapon. If you are carrying open or concealed, it is not a time for show and tell. The gun should never leave the holster unless you intend to use it. The problem is there are idiots out there, and IDIOTS should not PUNISH ME OR MY FAMILY because they are idiots.

An example: Should I be restricted in what I am allowed to eat (think NY fast food ban) because some people have no self control...? (not to offend anyone, just using it as an example)

Most of the "incidents" nationwide involving lawful firearm carry are open carry.

Typically, open carry requires zero training.

Mr Walters needs a few months in jail, and a serious fine. In addition I would hope Mr Walters is never issued a permit to carry concealed, and his right to possess any firearm be suspended for ten years or more.

It is morons like him who are making the sheep skiddish.
I am interested to know how old or rather, how young, he is.

    idiot...that is all
Never had to use my gun, never want to use my gun, will not hesitate to use my gun.

  10. There were a couple people in my CPL class that shouldn't have passed but they did. This one guy was bragging about all of his guns and their special capabilities (ported etc) and he was a military reservist. He couldn't hit a thing, didn't follow instruction properly and didn't watch where his muzzle was pointing.

This is why I'm for proper CCW, CPL licensing and process of applications. I actually wish sometimes they were more strict on handling and marksmanship and handin out CPL's

I am not the only one who has seen this on this website. It is very common. Wait till you get two of them in a gun store, and grab rifles off the racks, and start making "bang bang" noise's at each other while waving the rifles around. I didn't say a thing just pointed my finger at them, and pointed to the door. What I really wanted to do, I won't say. This is why I don't work in a gun store no more. I have very low tolerance for stupid, and dangerous.

BigbadAllis, let me ask, as an instructor, can't you just show people like that moron you had in your cpl class the door? Put a black mark next to his name in the computer, he will never have a CPL, unless he can prove maturity?

Firearms are like prescription drugs. You have to read the instructions, and be very careful with their use.
