    __________

NRAWOL - A critical view of the NRA's compromises If the NRA is the watchdog then who watches them? I am not going to renew my NRA membership. I'm going to join the Gun Owners of America instead. GOA has all the same principles without the need to power a large corporate machine.

  4. It was worth it to me for protection of my Second Amendment rights to not only join NRA, but to become a Benefactor Member when I got the chance. I don't have any children, but it was worth it to me to get a Life Membership for my honorary nephew (son of some close friends) for his bar mitzvah. If every current NRA member would get a membership for a child or niece or nephew there would be at least 7 million dues paying members and that would get a lot of attention in Congress and state legislatures.

Join, just the fact that they are fighting the gun antis is good enough for me. I dont need benefits from them, I want to help them and by doing so am helping to keep our guns.

If we don't already have the "attention" of Congress and State legislatures, we have already lost the battle.

I do like your idea of giving a membership to young folks, whether they own a gun or not.

I have been a member for 3 years and was at the gun range at the headquarters in Va last month. They could not find me as a member so I did have to pay the full price for the range. I still bought a T-shirt and I did forgive their computer glitch. Naturally I had left my membership card at home in Mo. My fault, I should have been a "Card Carrying" member.

I will continue to support them until either I die or this poor ol' country of ours name gets changed to the United Socialist States of America.
After the passing of the kadzillion dollar health bill, I call us the "United States of Chicago"!
