I bought my lever action rifle in cal. 357 to shoot the same ammo as my revolvers. My question is, can I shoot the same ammo as intended? I ask because I've read that the HP ammo that I shoot in my revolvers will fragment too much at the higher velocity out of my rifle and will not penetrate adequately. I know that JSP is good, but I don't want to have to have different ammo for the rifle & revolver, that defeats my purpose. And if the .357 would fragment too much, then would the .38 spl. HP be okay due to the lower velocity? Rifle is for defense only, not for hunting.
