This happens mostly in the far rural areas of our country, they take game as food for the family, and not just to put extra meat in the freezer as some may.

So what is needs to be asked in this question is a man in need is feeding his family what should be done if caught....
My response to this is did the Pioneers worry about what was in season when they were hungry....
Do Native American's worry about what the season is on the reservation if they need to take game (for that matter show me one DNR officer stupid enough to go check them out)...

I believe this kind of applies here.... Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.... 1 Timothy 5:18
Years ago, my Dad routinely participated in an out-of-season deer hunt in a depressed area of West Va. The deer were quickly harvested and processed and delivered to widows and others in the area who were poverty-stricken. And I had no problem with it.

  3. We are so over run with deer around here in Iowa. Most farmers want you to drop as many does as you can for them. If they don't want one, they will shoot coyotes off of their carcasses. Killing two birds with one stone. Some farmers around here WON'T let you on their land if you are not willing to thin the herd. Most farmers can get nuisance permits to shoot all the deer they want to so as to save on crop damage.

Nothing wrong with breaking the law to aid the needy. Every socialists would agree, from each his abilities, to each his needs. Karl would be proud of your dad and his friends.

Same story here in MI deer do heaps of damage in the corn, bean, watermelon and pumpkin fields not to mention the car deer accidents that occur regularly.....

You obviously have no understanding of economic systems.

BTW - socialism is not "damn, we got us a black president..." despite Faux News.

What planet are you from???? Feeding the needy can sometimes be what you HAVE to do!!! My neighbors wife left him with 8 kids, 4 his and 4 hers. If I didn't shoot deer for him, they would go hungry. He worked his ass off for the railroad, never took state/Fed money and he still had a very hard time making ends meet. He was a proud man. I guess you have lead a sheltered life.

Although I've worked hard all my life, I'm intrinsically a lazy bastard. So being a kept man appeals to me.
Unfortunately I also have a pretty good sense of fair play, and my parents apparently managed to teach me right from wrong. I don't think I'd make a very good socialist. Maybe I just don't understand what socialism is?

    What is socialism?
