Main stream media is not going to air anything that doesn't push their agenda. I wouldn't expect anything different from them. It's quite apparent the cw holder was not familiar with his weapon. Even with a concealed weapon any nut ball intent on doing damage is most likely going to get one shot off before they are stopped unless you know in advance were the threat is. In that case the threat could be stopped before the damage is done.

I take it that the news story was shown after the safeway shooting, for full anti-gun effect. I got to see that federal officer shoot himself in the foot AGAIN with a "Glock 40." Saying that they gave more training that what 30 or so states require for a permit is a bit of a "straw man" arguement. It had some reasonable points, but for the most part, it just seems to be way too one-sided and quite out of context for my liking.

You can do the same thing in a class full of police officers. There is a time lag between when a BG starts shooting and the GG's brains have kicked in. You have to hope that you are not one of the first ones targeted. BG has the advantage to start with. We did the same thing 30+ years ago as a test to see if the class would even be able to give an accurate description of the fake attacker.

  5. If the people were there for firearms training they should have know they were using paint, I mean what were they expecting to do with paint rounds kill the shooter.

Excellent point. They make a big deal about how their training is more intensive than what 30 states require for carry permits. However, they did this guy, and us in a way, a disservice when they told him he was carrying a loaded handgun which he either did not check himself, or was not allowed to check it. Always assuming a gun is loaded is not the issue here!

A trained individual who does not know what is in his gun? Alas, the straw man reigns supreme in the state run media.

Oh wow the media is so right again! Remember the exploding gas tanks on the Chevy? 1/4 stick of dynamite will make 'em go off everytime! The media is so anti gun biased that they set this up to read like you are in more danger in being armed than unarmed in this type of situation. As for me, I would rather be armed and have a slim fighting chance than be unarmed and just shot down. KNOW THY WEAPON....Practice, practice, practice,.... It is not a perfect world and the bad guy may get you, but at least you can answer to God that you did everything possible to save your life and maybe someone elses.

The gun is just the "tool", you have to know how to use the tool! Owning a drill or router doesn't make you qualified to use it well, that takes practice and gun handling requires the same kind of practice to develop muscle memory and good habits. IMHO, of course...

IIRC, this was done after the VA Tech shootings. They did tell the shooter who would be armed, where they'd be sitting, and basically made every effort to make the novice lose. It was a giant sham that was brought to light fairly quickly after it was aired.

Of course, my useless CC gun isn't so useless when I'm OCing everywhere.

What a crock of *****! Next time I'll train while seated with a full-face helmet on, wearing a protective vest with a grippy long-sleeved t-shirt and and gloved hands. VERY realistic ABC. Very realistic indeed.

Meanwhile, the BG comes in with his weapon in place, knowing which student has the gun the entire time.

How the HELL is this realistic? Oh, wait, it's not. It's ABC & 20/20. The drive-bys have done another bang-up job trafficing their leftist, gun-hating agenda. Way to go Diane!

In a real gun fight, it's going to be nearly impossible for the BG to figure out which civilian(s) is/are armed. He'll be concentrating on his vicks. In the 20/20 scenario, the game was fixed with the BG knowing where his primary and secondary targets were each time. To be more realistic, they would have moved the armed student around to make him harder to spot.

A long time ago my brother introduced me to the game "Stratego". Quickly surmising that he would expect me to hide my flag (the goal) behind a bunch of bombs I placed my flag, unprotected in one corner and the bombs in a protective pattern, in the other. Once he found one bomb he threw soldier after soldier at that corner.

    I won.

I wonder what would have happened if the trainee, thinking creatively, would have changed seats with one of the other classmates. I KNOW! Wouldn't have been shown.
