Thread: finally did it...

  1. Haha. I knew i should've added that small detail. Tannerite was used as a "cleanup" tool at long range with a savage .270. We seldom go out with just one or two weapons on range day. Just waiting on the local shop to get a duracoat job done on my SCARY dpms ar-15 so another trip to the range can be made.

  3. Might as well add a pic of the ar before duracoat as well. After all, we can all appreciate a good ar, right?

My next pistol will be a 1911. I think that will be the last purchase I make, until I see something else that I want....

I am considering the Springfield 1911, since I have the XD and XDS. Pros? Cons?

I carry a Springfield Loaded model 1911 A1. For the price I think it comes with all the upgrades anyone would be satisfied with directly from the factory. Quality. Mine is the Black Stainless finish.

C&L will come with time as will the thumb safety. PRATICE-PRATICE-PRATICE, then when you really have it all down and the comfort level is at it's zenith, PRATICE some more. I can't grab my 1911 in the holster without my thumb resting on the safety. IT JUST COME NATURAL. Congrats on your new addition!

Those grips may be Hogue grips. Hogue doesn't mark the outside of the separate grip panels like they do on the wraparound ones. They are marked on the back though.

And mine got the wraparounds on it tonight.

Springfield is a great choice for a 1911.
