She would have bought one! I wanted her to get the Ruger SP101, but nothing to be found anywhere here, and she thought it was too heavy.

We went looking for a handgun for her about a year ago, everyone had everything, but now hardware is dried-up here. OH! The Taurus 85 UltraLite is +P rated. I believe their lighter airweight model isn't, and I suggested she not buy it because of that. I personally felt it was too light, like the S&W Bodyguard.

I would have liked a semi-auto in her hands, but one of her arms and wrist suffered damage in a car accident, and she can't rack a semi slide. My XD-S, she could barely pull the slide out of battery. Tried coaching with push-pull technique and opposite arm technique, and she had success at times, but most of the time no. Even an instructor couldn't get her over the hump.

I may have her do hand and grip exercises with my spring hand squeezies, as she sometimes holds off center when she pulls the trigger. Had to order some ammo online, none to be had here, so waiting on that before a range trip. Had her try all caliber semis, but nogo! She wasn't bothered by the .38 special Bodyguard's recoil, although a bit pushy. (range had a rental last year), but my XD-S, she only shot once and said no more? Nevermind. I had +Ps in the XD-S at the time. Here is the link to the one she bought:

That makes me feel better. I bought a Bodyguard a couple months ago, but haven't tried it out yet. Wasn't sure if I'd like it or not.

I am a Ruger Fan. That started with my dad who had one of the first 493 Ruger Blackhawk 44 Magnums ever produced. The factory burnt to the ground during production and when they retooled the design was different. It was a Beautiful Gun. After a Motorcycle accident that almost killed him my mom had to sell all his guns. The Gun store gave my mother $100.00 each for the Ruger, his Colt Army Revolver, and his Winchester Model 94. I'm sick to this day over it. At 15 years old I became the sole support of my mom, dad, and 2 sisters. So, With Colts out of my price range its all about Rugers.
I am looking for a properly priced Mini 14 but I think my wife wants that to remain a dream.

It does my heart good to see Ruger doing so well.

At the tender age of 15 you stepped up and became the sole support of your family. I don't know you, but I'm proud of you. Your the kind of man America needs. Way to man up!

I've had people selling motorcycles on Craigslist express they're interested in trade... I call 'em to ask what sorta trade... three people so far have asked if I had either an AR or AK I'd be willing to trade.

I say no, b/c the extras I have... are my extras, heh heh. I don't need another motorcycle bad enough to give up an AK w/ ammo. It goes to show what some people are willing to do to get those 'evil assault weapons'... or 'personal defense weapons'... whichever side of the gov't dole you fall on I suppose.

There also people/companies that will work for ammo too.

This one unfortunately isn't the UltraLite. It is a 85B2FS and the box does not say +p on it. But the catalog listing and manual does. Thanks for the heads up as I did check it out and updated the hang tag.
