    New M&P Shield price

I saw a M&P SHield to day for $419 at a close by LGS, NIB 2 mags 1 short and 1 extended. It's for my wife and I was wondering if that was a good price in todays market?
Thanks guys, I know I'll get some good advice from my Forum brothers.

  3. Yeah, I think that's a great price. Isn't MSRP something like $450? My Dad just bought one for $500.

  4. That's a pretty good price. More than I paid for mine, but less than I saw at a gun show. The gun show wanted $600. I love mine.

MSRP from our distributor is $449. But they have been selling for more than that due to them being in short supply. The OP's $419 is a fair price.

I paid $400 for mine in August of last year so $420 today is a good deal I think.

Thanks Guys, my daughter in law's husband is related to the owners and we can also get the family 10% discount. Sooo, looks like we'll seal the deal Monday.
Thanks for the help my Forum Brothers!

Picked this little gem up at my favorite gun store for $425 6 weeks ago. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. Enjoy it!

  9. Yes, that is a good price, do you have it yet?

A friend of mine picked up a .40S&W Shield several months ago but had not been to the range with it until we went about 3 weeks ago. he really liked it, as did I when I shot it. I have a Ruger SR40C I use now as my primary so probably won't get a Shield anytime soon. When my friend went to field strip and clean it, he pulled up on the sear deactivation lever in the magazine well. When he did that, a spring and the lever popped loose. It seems the factory neglected to put the pin in at the front of the sear box to hold in the spring and sear deactivation lever. He sent it in for repair right after and called yesterday to check on the status since they should have had it for 2 weeks or so. It was obvious from their answer they hadn't even started on it but, because he called, they must have decided to get on it. Replacing that part would take all of 5 minutes but I am sure they want to do a thorough checkover to see if they left out anything else. I know the S&W line usually is built ready to shoot, as this one appeared to be but someone skipped over a step and left out a pretty important part. Just thought you might want to be alerted.

I know that Cabela's sells them for $449.99 so the price is very good. I personally don't care for the feel of the S&W safety trigger, but other than that it's a nice firearm.
