Thread: Background Check for Powder for Muzzleloaders?

  1. Background Check for Powder for Muzzleloaders?

I was in W/M yesterday, looking for some sports items, when I met a friendly customer at the sporting goods counter. He mentioned that now, he was required to have a background check to purchase powder for his muzzle loader. This was at a rural W/M in Missouri.

I don't need a background check to buy ammo, but he does for powder?

I'm assuming it is in place for some terrorist uses? That's not going to stop a terrorist from getting materials. This poor law-abiding citizen is being punished by government control, for something he has done for 40 years?

    Thoughts? Truth? Lie?

Only problem is that buying Pot Nite is watched also. Buy 50 pounds at once and you looked at.
