The denial may not be arbitrary or capricious. Why did they single-out this person? Others aren't having a problem getting a permit. Is there more to the story?

Well all, I sent off my appeal letter. Difficult to write because I am not sure what point(s) to emphasis. I would have been a help if they would have cited exactly why I was denied . . . oh well, we will await the result of the appeal.

As a lawyer I probably would have just alleged that the denial was arbitrary and capricious, a denial of due process, and a violation of the Second Amendment because no reason was stated. I would not try to guess he reason. Let them respond to the appeal with the details first.

  5. Maryland is a police state, if you are not the police, active or retired, you are most likely not going to get a CCW. They state you have to have documented police reports of you life being threatened in order to carry...makes great sense if you are an idiot. Good luck!

Good luck to you Dr. D. Let us know how the appeal goes. If it doesn't go well, head north to PA, west to WV or south to VA. You'll be able to carry in all those states.
All good choices. However, he can also run S/W to the extremely gun friendly Great State of Kentucky!

I would move to Kentucky but the Turtle man scares me. I have driven through some wonderful parts of Kentucky though, grass so green you swear is was painted! Off topic a bit, Maryland now requires you to purchase a license to buy a handgun, even though it is good for ten years, it's more money to spend.

I joke, but according to Communist News Network, there are two cities that beat out Apex, that are in Massachusetts and NJ. I don't think they would be much better for the Doc.

Hope you win your appeal. Sorry to hear you got denied. I agree, with a denial, there needs to be a reason listed rather than just some Generic denial letter they print your address on, if they posted a reason, you could obviously get paperwork together proving them wrong. Then again, its a denial to carry a firearm, Im sure the libtards would rather have the ball in their court on that one.
Best of luck to ya. Hope to hear your appeal went though.

Seems to me, it's just how it is. "May Issue" vs "Shall Issue" The county I live in here in Iowa would only issue a carry permit only if you were a pal and or large contributor to the Sheriff's campaign fund. When the state switched to "Shall Issue" in 2011, he couldn't do that any more.

Bid you good luck, but don't get your hopes up.
