While I do believe that gf may have gone a little overboard, his tone is much kinder than what an arresting LEO, prosecutor, judge or coroner will have. I don't believe it was gdcleanfun's issue. I believe that she was misinformed by a poor NV CFP instructor. There are unfortunately quite a few of them out there. We have seen commentary on another poor NV CFP instructor on this site.

My objective being an instructor is to teach people to do it legally, responsibly and safely. I also encourage students to seek further instruction from advanced instructors such as Ayoob, Chuck Taylor or Gunsite. Hopefully they will never need it.

The CCW instructors that inform you of the good, bad and the ugly of CCW generally are the better ones. The ones that just rubber stamp your paperwork are typically the ones that shouldn't be teaching. If they don't tell you what you should know then there's a problem. The topic of self defense and legal ramifications if you make a mistake are not ones to be sugar coated.

I believe gf's intention was not to correct my misperceptions. I believe his/her intention was to be **** ***** angry. There are lots of angry people in this world. It's not my job to abate their anger. That's the job of an anger management class. I'm not "into" flame wars, and though I'm always willing to learn correctly what I've learned incorrectly, I'm never willing to be someone's whipping post. "T'ain't gonna happen, McGee!"

Read my earlier posts lady. I'm not an angry person, not into any "flame wars" or want to use you as a "whipping post". Every month I volunteer my time and have instructed over 300 students in the past year as a VOLUNTEER. I receive no monetary compensation. I do enjoy knowing that I was able to help a man/woman learn CORRECTLY how to handle firearms and ammuniton. I've had times where I had to teach folks how to correct bad habbits. Believe it or not, I have come into contact on a few occasions, a student like yourself that goes into "victim mode" when they don't like to hear what I or another instructor says.

I'll probably be reading about "Debi" from Nevada in the news some day when you're arrested for a CC violation, or worse yet, get charged/convicted of shooting someone. Due to your actions, the whole pro 2A community will suffer.

Drop the "drama queen" act and be a little more receptive to the folks in the group if you're truly "willing to learn correctly".

  6. Hmmm. Does "learn correctly" mean BE OBEDIENT AND SUBSERVIENT TO ME?

Sounds like an angry man with a gun to me.

And please don't bother to trouble your busy, important self with a resumé of your wonderful "volunteer" sacrifices. Why not try being polite and supportive of someone who wants to learn and join our community, rather than the macho big bad wolf?

We need EVERYBODY in our community. Why do your best to drive them away?

    Enough

Ok, I just had to spend the last 20 minutes after I just got home from a long day at work reading through this thread and emails I received about it. Not really what I was planning on doing as soon as I got home.

From what I can see Glock Fan WAS NOT trying to be mean to you on purpose, he was simply trying to correct your misconceptions although as said above he may have been a little harsh about it. But after that gdcleanfun, you seem to have gotten really bend out of shape about it and made some posts that were out of line as well.

I'll ask if you are going to correct peoples mistakes, try not to be too harsh about it. I remember when I first got my CCW and I knew completely nothing.

I'll also ask if someone is correcting you please understand this website and everyone on it is here to provide the best information out there. Do not take things personally or the wrong way.

I can add more but I am going to leave it at this. Both of you please give each other a break. I don't want to have to lock this thread or anything else. There is something called an Ignore List, I suggest using it.

  8. Here in WA state if the area is open to the public but firearms are prohibited like a courthouse they must provide a locked storage area and allow you to store your firearm while you take care of your business, no need to go unarmed. Also if you are picking up or dropping off you kids at school carry is legal. I am always armed only question is S&W 642 or Kimber 1911?

Ahhh, Sambo, I'm cracking up! You gave me my first belly laugh for the day and I thank you.

I do not live in Clark County, nor do I live close to Las Vegas, nor do I care to frequent the casinos there when I have to go there. I do understand that there is a local ordinance in place in my county that prohibits CCWs in the casinos. I'm trying to find the ordinance in print.

I do know that there are local ordinances in place in Boulder City and North Las Vegas (they were grandfathered in) that prohibit CCWs, even if legally obtained elsewhere in Nevada/other state. But I'm hoping that it will only be a matter of time before they are challenged and then rescinded or greatly modified.

Are there any other cities, towns, areas, etc., in Nevada that prohibit CCWs? I don't know. I need to learn this.

My intent was to try and be funny and in no way offend Anyone when I add a zing here and there. Pretty much giving a hint for Everyone to "get over it" and move on..........on ALL postings/threads.
My Firearm is on my person pretty much all the time unless it is stated "No Weapons Allowed" and I then lock it in a gun safe in the vehicle OR I just do not go to that establishment. I can go on and on to be more precise on when and where I carry but right now I think I kind of forgot what the hell the topic was on???? I do not know everything and that's why I........We come here to learn whether it's asking questions or just reading everything. I like to just read and maybe once and awhile I'll give a reply to something. That's why my signature says "opinions/suggestions" because that's just what it is if I do not know the answer/s. Oh, and I like to bust balls! Everyone, have a great weekend!
