I guess I'm your 5th member, so now U R a legit social group per the requirement to have a minimum of 5 members to constitute a social group. I'm a member of the Beretta SG and I moderate 'Vets and Guns'. Just the proud owner of a Springfield XD-9, which is my primary CCW. I can't say enough good things about it that I haven't already posted all over USA Carry about it. I love the one-less safety that allows me to draw, aim and shoot, no flipping levers to fire or off safe. I can draw from total concealment and send the 1st round out in 3 seconds, carrying it in almost any pocket or my leather wrap-around, Velcro rip-open fanny pack that sits over my front belt buckle. With 3 ten round mags in reserve I know I have enough fire-power to handle even 2 or 3 perps shooting back. The safeties of a web-thumb bar and 3 triggers took a little getting used to, but now it's IMHO a better deal than too many safety slow-downs when a BG is closing in on me at 10 meters per second with a knife or already shooting at me. It handles a charm, is so easy to completely conceal year-round and is engineered with combat not sport in mind, but IMHO is well suited to both. It's only fault is a user one, drop a loaded XD and chances are 50/50 it will discharge. E-Z to break down, clean and maintain, I use 9mm JHP's, CORŽBON, 115gr, 1,350fps for carry and 9mm Luger 115gr FMJ for range-fire. It's small size makes many think it's not a good stopping weapon, I agree if U R shooting ball/reloads to save your life, IMHO it's the 10 + 1 in the spout with the right ammo that gives it plenty of stopping power. At 6" length, 5" tall and 1" wide it is very easy to keep out of sight and the balance suits me better then any of my larger pistols. Bought it new 3 years ago for $450, it never fails to blow out an inner round bull at 20-meters with 10 shots, and has almost no recoil. It doesn't drift after firing and reloads in 2 seconds. Front and rear sights are good but I use CQC barrel aim/line of sight over sighting aim with just as good results. Never had a MF, F2F, jamb or cook-off. IMHO it is the best sub-compact SA pistol ever made, I wouldn't trust my life on any other weapon out and about where even in jeans & a T I look like a normal Joe-Q-Public no bulges or worry about 'outlining' it's profile against a T worn over a pair of pants, something even larger pistols tend to do outside of concealed holster using belt tuck carry only. It just goes into cloak-mode. Uploading 3 JPG's, one shows it in my hand compared to the size of a a 40-Cal Beretta 96 FS Centurion, a heavy-weight range-fire fave, just a tad too big for true CC year round, but the XD-9 is the perfect palm-sized surprise for anyone bent on doing me serious harm. That's a rap.

I've updated some things today and now have the group forums fixed. I went ahead and created a forum for this group.

I'm a happy owner of an XD45 full size. I love this gun! It shoots well and feels good. It is a little larger than I want to carry, so I am looking at an XD45 compact as well. I am thinking about a S&W M&P .45 compact too, but every time I shoot the XD, it makes me lean in the XD direction.

    Hello All

I am a new member. I love my XD .40 Tactical. My Father in Law is looking at getting an XD 9 sub compact because he bought a Kel Tec P-11, and it has given him a heap of trouble. I hope to learn more about the XD. It is technically my wife's gun, and I use the SA 1911, but the XD is a really smooth shooter.

Has anyone tried the Lasermax sight on the XD? Is it worth the $$$

I own 3 XD pistols, and I love all 3 of them. I am working on the fourth one now. I have a 45 compact tactical, a 9mm service, and a 9mm sub-compact. The sub-compact is my daily carry.

    Hello ya'll,
I just picked up my second XD, a 9mm sub compact. I own a restaurant and we've had some creeps "casing" our establishment. Perhaps they should think twice now that I use Springfield XD Security Systems.
