Thread: Pocket .380 roundup

I don't carry it, but I have. The P238 is a great little gun, haven't shot many of the rest though. Not sure how it stacks up.

I have both the Sig P238 and the Ruger LCP. The Ruger has smoother contours and is a little easier to carry. The Sig has usable sites and the recoil is less pronounced. Both are accurate within their pocket guns limitaions and both are fun to shoot. But the bottom line is that the Ruger stays home and the Sig is my daily BUG.

  4. I have Ruger, Kahr & Colt 380s. I think the Colts are the best of the bunch

My favorite .380 is my Sig P238. I've shot the Ruger LCP and KelTec P-3AT, both of which have more recoil in my opinion. With the P238's less felt recoil, I believe it is faster with followup shots.

I've shot 1911s for years and much prefer single-action to double-action. I like that the P238's slide locks back on empty. And the tritium night sights are excellent.

Many of the early P238s had some issues...but comments on the Sig Forum indicate Sig has resolved most, if not all, of the early problems.

    I said P3AT because I own 2 of them.
I can't say I've ever shot any of the others.

My personal favorite off of your list is the Taurus PT738, of course I'm a little partial I guess since I own one. You load one up with +p Hi Shok JHP rds and it barks nearly as bad as it's big bro. the 9mm.

I have an LCP and I love it. I have very large hands but I hold it like I would any other pistol. Recoil isn't bad at all if you're treating it like a larger caliber pistol. I find I'm able to make very accurate double-taps out to 25ft.

My LCP has functioned flawlessly. I use Powerball ammo in it. I found that the Powerball feeds smoothly while regular JHP can seem a little herky-jerky although in the end I've never had a problem with the gun feeding and firing.

It's a great pocket gun and I carry it frequently. I have a Fobus paddle holster for it as well that fits perfectly.

There's plenty of .380 ammo available online. You just have to look a little bit. LuckyGunner.com has a lot of .380 range ammo in stock although they're a bit pricey. Shop around. The defense ammo is out there as well.

    Bersa Thunder & poll

Wish I had added the Bersa Thunder to the poll... I'd like to change the actual question of the poll to "favorite". I'll see if I can get some help from Luke to at least see if the BT can be added.
