If I push the issue with her, I may get kicked out, I'm not sure I want to push it that far. BUT I want to CC, and I dont want her to say [email protected] about it.

I'm lucy as it is, cause it's in the house. And no, she will not go to the range, she hates guns.
come on now gary. This is the mother of your children. Don't pay attention to the morons.
Don't say stuff like she deserves something bad to happen. Becareful what you wish for.
You really don't want to end your relationship over a firearm do you?
I have an idea, get a smaller carry pistol. Big gun, bigger fear.
Tell your GF, you are going to test the waters, and are going to carry unloaded. I know that sounds stupid, and i feel stupid saying carry a unloaded pistol. Put a snap cap in the chamber. Show your gf, at the end of the day, the snap cap didn't go off.
Perhaps you need to grease the skids some. Flowers, Jewely, dinner, movie. Work it fella.

  3. My wife hated guns. I begged her to come "watch" me shoot one day. Once I got her there and she was watching me practice with a 22, I asked her to take "just one shot". Now, shes getting a carry permit and shes a member of this site.

  4. Seriously, have you investigated an "intro to firearms course", and taking her to the range for some sporting shooting (IDPA, IPSC, SASS, etc.) where she can see and maybe participate in GUNS CAN BE FUN activity. Also seeing people casually accepting a carried gun, and the way people are responsible and respectful with guns will do more to change her attitude than any vocal argument you can ever make. Good Luck

    Seriously;
You have to ask yourself what is MORE important; GF or CC. ("IF" the children are yours, this is a NO brainer.)

I also think the BEST thing you can do is enroll the two of you in a CC class. This really did the trick for my wife.

I wanted to CC; she was fearful of our two children. I convinced her to take a class to learn more on the subject of safety and CC.

Long story short, she now CC's and helps other women see the TRUTH!

    On a side note:
My 10yr old son recently was exposed to a REAL and LOADED handgun while playing with friends. He knew what to do; SOLELY because we had taught him. He quite possibly save at least ONE of his friends from tragedy that day.

If i didn't say it before, I will say it now, thankyou for what your son did. If your child had been raised by gun haters, a child could of been hurt. Each and Every child needs to know what to do if they find a firearm.
This needs to be taught in the schools for the kids who don't learn it at home.

I guess I'm the lucky one of the bunch, married 37 years, always had guns, when we moved south and CCW permits were not such a hassel to get, we took the class together, and about 6 weeks later we were legal, she don't like to shoot the big stuff, but she carry's a 9mm and a 380, only problem now is we like to shoot all the guns when we go to the range, almost have to save up to buy ammo, LOL

Reason, to get a higher paying job. Problem, GF of 11 years with our two kids. She the GF does not like guns. Allows me to get said gun for work and range, but will not let me CC.

How can I get her to let me CC to protect me and my family when we go out or whatever? She thinks because she and I have lived almost 40 years with nothing going on that going to Wal-Mart is safe. I tried telling her you can become a victim anywhere, she thinks I'm nuts.
Get a new girl friend one who will care about your safety and well-being. Sounds as if this present is not too concerned. If you want to be sure you live..get a new girl friend.

  11. I agree with the others, grow a pair. She is to decide what you do and do not do? I am lost, I thought a girl friend would be concerned about her boy friend's well being by staying alive unless she has a high insurance policy on you.
