  1. question about my glock 30

Hey I have a question about my Glock 30...

For some reason, when the slide is closed I can't put my fully loaded 10 rnd magazine in. The slide has to be locked open for it to seat correctly and lock into place. However, if I just load 9 rounds in the mag it goes in just fine with the slide closed. Am I just ignorant here or is that the way the gun is intended to be? Please help lol

Delete this please I figured it out on my own I just had to give it a little bit more of a push..doh

Yep, the mag bulges a little with the 10th round in there...

Yep, my 30 and 27 both do that. IF you push harder it should seat properly, at least mine does with no damage to the bullet.

  5. Yeah I figured it out..I just had to push with a bit more pressure and it locked in

  6. Just a little tip on those mags. Try not to seat them with the 10 rounds in the 10 round mag. It compresses the spring to the point that it can have failures. Failures related to spring compression aren't all that common with the Glock family, but they can happen.

I had an issue with my G30 in that exact manner. I carried it in 10+1 configuration and had a mag spring fail. Glock sent out a new magazine spring and I replaced it.

Enjoy that 30. I miss mine so much and I'll never be able to get another one like what I parted with. Glock-style PT Night sights (before they ran into NRC issues), 3.5 pound trigger connector, mated spring for the trigger, Lighting Performance captured guide rod assembly (stainless), and mag floor grip extensions. Absolutely wonderful set up.

I have 5 Glocks, if you completely load any of the mags to there full compacity they will do that, some worse than others, I just make it a habit to leave them one rd short, or I load the mag all the way, open the slide, pop the mag in and rack the first one, and I'm good to go, also its much easyer on the mag springs

  8. bumping this about an issue im having..

Recently I bought a 9 round mag for my G30..no matter how hard I try, even with the UPLULA pistol mag loader, I can't get the 9th round in..

Does it just need a while to break in? I've had it loaded with 8 rnds for several days now..

My 9 round mag was also very stubborn, but now I can load all 9 rds.

Back when I had reduced capacity magazines for my Glock 22, the tenth round was hard to load. This is because the magazine was deliberately crippled so that you could not get an eleventh round into it. When I started using full capacity magazines, the problem went away, all 15 rounds load just fine.

I have a G29SF and G30. All the new 10 round mags are difficult to load when new. I have never had an issue with the slide going into battery on either pistol.

I don't agree that you should only put 9 rounds in a 10 round mag. It says 10 rounds and you should be able to carry 10. Leave the mags loaded for a few days and they will loosen up. I also had problems with the 9 round mags but with the Uplula I got them loaded and all of them function fine now.

    My .02 YMMV
