You Can't Have Fun Without High Explosives

Nothing as satisfying as a big boom. That is all.

Because you can't have fun without high explosives.

My wife and I seriously disagree with you that someone can't have fun without high explosives.

There are definitely some situations that would be much more fun without explosives!

You two would have more fun if you did it WITH high explosives.

I was actually referring to more activities than one... I also enjoy reading, horseback riding, and skiing... none of those would work out well with explosives!

Motorcycling, hiking, camping, fishing.... a game of scrabble on a cold evening with hot cider.... yeah, these are all peaceful activities that my wife and I enjoy, that would be ruined with explosives.

Granted, explosives have their place in the entertainment continuum, but not all things that are fun require them.

I will admit, Mythbusters would not be the same without exploding cement trucks.

Everyone likes a big bang and I have been known to light off a few pounds of it myself every now and then but that seemed a little dangerous on a gravel road where the possibility of hundreds of little rocks could be expelled. Other than that, nice boom! Did anyone see the car in the background on the road between 28 and 32 seconds in the video?

Note: Everyone was far away from the blast, which was shot with a telephoto lens. The truck in the background was a good 800 yards away.

But thank you, we also need some Safety Susies on threads like this.

The following account happened in an alternate universe with no legal ties to the one in which most of us find ourselves each day. It is protected from prosecution by the magic word "allegedly" . Where I live there are sometimes huge letters placed upon mountains representing the universities of the cities below. Someone close to me - VERY close, had his friend bring 40 sticks of dynamite, a number of blasting caps and some fuse from a nearby state where his father had a ranch - and access to said explosives.
The plan was to blow the letter of the hated rival universities letter off the mountain at halftime of a football game. Previous yrs other students had pranked the other university by coloring the letter in the rival universities color but this student soo close to me decided that was sissy stuff. Why not obliterate the letter?
I have to say it was a BLAST practicing how to use the explosives. I mean it is really fun stuff - allegedly. Sadly the wife of this student was a bit more reasonable and pointed out that the prank involved interstate transport of explosives and could result in 20 yrs in a federal prison.

Since this occurred over 40 yrs ago and in an alternate existence I often wonder if the statute of limitations has expired. But back to the original posters comment - I can't see how explosives wouldn't enhance most forms of fun.
Typos are for the entertainment of the reader. Don't let it go to your head!
