    Hi Shooters,

Received A letter from Taurus, they got my gun and I need to wait 5 to 6 weeks so sometime in May I should have my gun back.

They must be fixing a LOT of broken guns for it to take that long for a repair. Not a good sign.

Some spend a lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem.

That tells you a lot. If it took 5 weeks for them to repair it then this is not an isolated case. Looks like they are having some major problems with their firearms for that long of a turnaround!

And the root cause was? Parts replaced? Will it happen again?

I have worked in failure analysis for some time and I just like to know if there is/was a defect what it is/was and has it been corrected to prevent it from happening again.

    Peace..
You can give peace a chance alright..

I'll seek cover in case it goes badly..

    OldIrish,
Good you got your T-pistol back.
Question, how much were you out of pocket to have the repair done?
I know Taurus has lifetime warranty. But shipping? Who paid that?
    Just wondering.

  9. theicemanmpls,

Most firearm has warranty for a year, before a year warranty and you take it to your local gun shop where you bought it. The local gun shop paid the shipping and warranty cover paid your gun repair.

But after a year warranty, do the same thing take it to the local gun shop. They will shipping out for you, otherwise you have to paying to the Taurus company for the gun repair costly.

What kind of ammo were you using? MagTech and some "Once fired" reloads will definitely swell in the chamber. Of course everyone blames the gun and not the ding-a-ling who bought the cheap ammo!
