    Hey Red Hat...

I need to do the same thing to my old original 1970 Rem 870.

Would you possibly be kind enough to do an eBay or Amazon search and provide me with links for some specific polishing wheels and rouge to use on my grinder to get the minor pits out?

    Thank you so much,
    John

And I'm up for another 2 years. :)

Hit it with oil and fine steel wool to remove the rust.

After a thorough de-greasing, pits are best hit with waterproof bearing grease before wiping down the general surface with a clean, dry cloth to remove most of the excess. The grease will remain in the pits. Then, oil the firearm normally.
