Yeah, that's bull ****. The officer was nice, but there isn't any reason to stop someone just because they have a gun displayed lawfully.

I probably wouldn't identify myself either just to make sure that nothing went down next to my name.

The officer did an OK job. But, from what I understand he is only allowed to check to see that the gun is unloaded. NOT, confiscate it or the ammo or frisk him. He failed on those accounts. It is sad to me that so many people have a problem with someone asserting their rights. This is how it should go:

Yeah but it the right to carry an empty gun. Why bother? So a gangbanger can see your open carry gun and say hey I want it, so he pulls out his gun (which is NOT empty) and at best you lose your gun.

Point taken, but how often do you hear this happen. And you can bet you would hear about it in bleeding heart liberal CA news.

If it has I haven't read it down here. I just view it as pointless to carry an unloaded gun. To what end, just to say "look, I have a gun?" Seems like too much B.S. to deal with to carry basically a club. LOL

When I lived in Jersey I wanted a concealed carry permit, but I was told that although they do issue, you have to be an ex cop or have great connections to get one.

I had no choice but to suck it up & get an NJ firearms ID so that I could plink at the range since I worked in Manhattan. First chance I got, I moved south. I feel much better that the wife & I have carry permits.

I agree!!! It's the OC'ers that stand on the Constitution like a circus tent evangelist and preach the law that gives the rest of us a bad name with the LEO's.

If I were to carry in a nanny state like CA, I certainly wouldn't OC.

Not sure carrying a club in CA is legal and an unloaded gun is a CLUB.
