    It depends on range expected. I use a 25.06. My brother-in-law uses a .243 and has never had one fail to die. He mostly gets them to lie down right away.

    The guns you mention are good long range guns.

    I'm surprised you left out my .270

  5. 30-06 or .243 first choice is 30-06. Its good for elk too.

  6. All three are great deer calibers. Just pick one and place the bullet in the kill zone. I've killed deer with all three.
