Ok, I know it might be a distant away for ccw permits in Il, considering, what is going on with the new gun control act that will take place in january. My heart goes out to those in Conn. I am so relieved that they are passing a law in Illinois to allow concealed carry. I hate going to work with my gun, only to find out that I am being redirected thru Illinois. I love my first gun. .357 mag taurus 605 model. I let my wife shoot it and now she is in love with it , and wants one. except with a red frame. (go figure). Now I feel that I need more power so Im looking at the Gen4 Glock 27 .40 cal S&W. I wonder if there is a certain caliber limit in different states for a ccw permit holder? I know there are powerfull guns out there and I have fun shooting them, and I do plan to get me my share of them but for now, I just need some guns for concealment.

I usualy carry concealed all the time unless I am driving the tractor and trailer. While I drive I just set it aside. Question: If I get stopped for an Inspection at the scales for DOT, should I inform them that I have a loaded revolver in the truck? And am I legal to do so?
