About Tony Hagan
Coming from a law enforcement and security back ground and growing up on a farm, shooting has always been a passion of mine. Sadly when watching the news and hearing of the innocent people that was shot outside of a grocery store, listening to the 911 tapes of the ones terrified as they called for help, or watching the school shootings and the freeway sniper and hearing the shots in the back ground and people yelling sent chills up & down my spine. After years of watching countless news videos or drive bys where kids were injured, or innocent bystanders were killed I told my wife that I wanted to do something to help educate the public on how to survive and to put together something to help the public. I started doing some research on different trainings across the state. Quickly I took a Firearms Instructors class. After several discussions and sleepless nights my wife and I decided to launch Derby City Firearms Training. We designed a company to train the public on the rights that the Constitution of the United States gives us. As well as giving people the confidence and the skills to survive. It has amazed me how little that some people know about natural reactions they have and how they can use them to their advantages.

Along my career I have worked with people who had little or no training. So stage 2 of the company is being geared in helping them get the training they need and at a reasonable cost. In today’s time EVERYONE needs to be taught how to survive and refuse to be a victim. I have personally researched & learned several skills on how to do just that and I want to share that knowledge with you – whether it be for personal use or to expand your knowledge for your profession. Our goal at DCFT is to make sure you have the knowledge to do just that SURVIVE and REFUSE to be a VICTIM.

Stage 3 of the business was to develop a relationship with a company to help provide the gear that one may need to survive and defend their self and their families. So I quickly talked to the best of the best, I spoke with MPC Tactical and pitched my ideas to their company. After a couple of meetings I got the call and now DCFT has teamed up with MPC Tactical to provide some of the best training and gear/supplies in Louisville. This is a big move for DCFT -- we will have a large state of the art classroom and training area. MPC is already a large tactical supply and uniform shop. With DCFT and MPC teaming up you will be able to get the training that you want along with the gear that you need & want. Nothing but good things are coming in the near future but one that I am very proud of is our class for any domestic violence victims. DCFT is opening its doors to you so that you can refuse to let it happen again. If you are a victim of domestic violence and you are either still in the relationship and/or you are out and refuse to be the victim again. DCFT instructors will work one on one with you in different areas of self defense i.e. lethal and nonlethal defensive tactics. These classes are free to you with a copy of a EPO or DVO, and 75% off for those who got out and didn’t get Law Enforcement involved.

DCFT was built to provide people with the additional knowledge and skills! Most people have the attitude that “It won’t happen to me”. REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM!

When Survival is the key..

by Tony Hagan on 03-07-2012 at 09:20 PM

Do you have what it takes to survive when you need to? With all the recent storms in our area I ask you this question. What if it happen to you? I want you to think about these questions as we start this venture of planning for those unexpected problems. Letís start by making a plan.

First lets think what is the first thing we can't live without? NO Phones don't count.
