Dogface Soldier - Welcome. I was a Devil Dog myself. Interesting how we all end up being equated with the Canine. I take it you were with the 3rd Infantry Division?

The term dogface has been aligned with that famous unit since WWII. Many attribute the term dogface (as applied to GI's) to Ernie Pyle (the writer) during WWII. But I like to feel that we are all being compared to the Dog Solders of the Cheyenne.

Served 6.5 years, medically discharged as an E-5/Spec. 5, on the promotion list to SSG. Helicopter Flight Medic (Dustoff). Best job I ever had.
