    Thank you vets!!

I wanted to take a moment this morning and thank all the veterans for their selfless service. I bought a shotgun today because as a free man in a free country it is my right to. I got Bojangles this morning for breakfast, not German breakfast or an English muffin with tea. I speak the english language but not with a jolly good accent and I didn't order my food speaking German either. I get to see and hold my wife everyday, for vets some are not so lucky and some ultimately never will again. Take a moment and think throughout the course of history how lucky we are that these folks volunteer to do this, otherwise we would have gone through many different owners as a nation instead of being the good ol' USA. Realize that today and many days these men and women miss out on so much to be ready all over the world in case our liberties are ever threatened or come under attack. They miss birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and many more moments in life that they will never get back and have to live through a computer or TV screen. So, again and again, THANK YOU fine guardians. May they all come home.

  5. Thank you for your service to our country, past, present, and future veterans.

My wife and I just returned from a trip so she could see her grandson to honor vets day. He is stationed at an advanced aircraft base near here.

The words "Thank you" are not enough for the sacrifices made by all veterans, in particular those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, but it's the best I've got.

    THANK YOU VETERANS!

  7. Thank you vets

I was a sailor, and I consider my 6 years to be a luxury cruise compared to my bretheren in the other services (except the Air Force Their bases look like country clubs ) So all you groundpounders out there, thank you for your sacrifice.

Thank you. How times have changed. During my first years in the Navy I had to put up with 20-somethings asking me how many babies I'd killed that day. Under Carter, one really didn't want to wear a uniform in public.

As a side note, I remember my parents telling me about the Depression and how things were in the U.S. during the Second World War (meat rationing, sugar rationing, butter rationing, gas rationing, War Bonds, War Stamps, collections of fat, pots, and pans, leg makeup for the ladies to give the impression they had stockings, and so on). I really wonder how our current hedonistic, "me" society would do under the same conditions during our campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Again, thank you. And God bless those out in the sandbox or some other godforsaken duty station.

Brovo Zulu to all that have served. Without your contribution and dedication we the American People would not be where we are today. God Bless ALL that sacrificed.

I served in OIF and my cousin and 2 friends gave their lives in the same war. These guys were like most soldiers I know. A simple "thank you" would have made their day.

The times haven't changed much and they still do in southern Wisconsin. A kid "protesting" the war screamed something about atrocities and Jesus and more specifically... "and this mother fer is killing babies!!!" while pointing a finger in my face while I was out with a girl. Somebody from his group threw red paint on my date and I had to one up him and just walk away while my girl screamed at me to "kick his ass." I didn't and she broke up with me that night, after I bought her a new jacket, dress and iPod and paid for an expensive dinner without so much as a goodnight kiss...or a goodbye. :-)
