Thread: Active Duty in Florida, Texas Resident

  1. Active Duty in Florida, Texas Resident

    Hey all,

recently I just got stationed in Florida, I am a Texas resident (where I enlisted) and never signed any papers to change my residency, when I get out of the service that's where I want to live, however, when I applied for my CHL (Texas) I was stationed at my previous unit, also in Florida, so both my license reflect my Florida address and CHL does as well... my question is, I know that Texas and Florida recognize each other, I just haven't carried since I want to make sure all my T's are crossed and I's are dotted... don't want to get in any trouble... so my question is, am I good to go?

    Thanks all.

Is your TX CHL a resident or non-resident permit?

If it is a resident permit, it is honored in FL

If it is a non-resident permit, it is not honored in FL (FL does not honor any non-resident permits)

Is it still true that Texans who serve get a bit of land to homestead when they discharge and return to Texas?
