    Parking lot firearm bill

This bill from last secession would have prevented employers from terminating employees who keep a firearm locked in their vehicle while at work, and would have provided businesses protection against lawsuits.

I know this bill passed the House in May of last year, but don't believe it went anywhere in the Senate. Has anyone heard if the bill is going to be reintroduced this year?

HB 1400 -- Business Premises Safety Act

    Sponsor: Cox

This bill establishes the Business Premises Safety Act which

about to occur that pose imminent injury to a person or that the
same criminal acts have occurred on the premises within the prior
24 months and is likely to occur again. In either case, it will
be their duty to use reasonable care to protect against the acts.
An owner or operator of a business will not be liable for any
injury or damage resulting from compliance with these provisions.
    .
    Proposed Effective Date: 08/28/2010

Last Action: 05/11/2010 - Placed on Informal Calendar

HB 1400, which would establish the Business
Premises Safety Act, by a vote of 113-40.

Is all I can find on it. Call your state house and ask them the status of HB 1400.

    Thanks S&WM&P40 for ferreting out this information in reply;

The bill has been placed on "Informal Calendar" which means that it has been 'shelved' and no action is being considered for it.

Contact your Missouri State Representative and State Senator NOW, and request that action be taken on this important piece of legislation.
