Drugs - gangs - or liberal progressive policy are not to blame, gun are to blame.

    Here we go again.
This demonstrates to New York gun owners in UpState how important your vote is this year. Right now the Senate is able to hold the line by one Senator. If the Democrats take the majority in the Senate, 2A rights in NY will be legislated away.
Look at some of the hysteria in the article and now imagine the "sensible" laws that will come out of it.

As discussions continue about a possible special legislative session on a number of issues, including a pay raise for legislators, go figure............... with $4.00 gas NY State is realizing a win fall in sales tax revenue. So the fat cats in Albany want their fair share baby.

After Bloodshed Around NYC, Squadron and Advocates Call on Albany to Pass Critical Gun Control Bills, at Site of Recent Shooting
Squadron: Time to Act to Save Lives
NEW YORK – Today, State Senator Daniel Squadron joined community and elected officials and advocates to urge a special legislative session in Albany to address the crisis of gun violence in New York City and around the state.

This year, 1,329 people have been injured or killed by guns in New York City alone. Early Monday morning, a young man was shot in the leg on the grounds of Campos Plaza; the perpetrator has not been indentified and remains on the loose.

to vote on a package of gun control bills that would make New York ‘s gun laws the strongest in the country.

    These bills would ”

I commend Senator Daniel Squadron and his like-minded colleagues who are pushing for an integrated reform package, including such vital initiatives as: microstamping of guns, broadening the definition of ‘assault weapon,’ capping the number of guns an individual can buy per month, closing loopholes in background checks and providing safety training courses for gun owners. Public safety is our shared responsibility and responsible gun control and violence prevention initiatives should be our collective priority."

“At a time when guns laws are being steadily weakened at the federal level, New York State must do everything it can to protect its independence when it comes to gun laws,” Council Member Margaret Chin said. “New York State should set the standard by having the strongest gun laws in the nation. We need comprehensive laws that address how firearms are purchased, and what guns and ammunition are available. We must implement technology, like microstamping, that will make it easier for law enforcement to do their job, and we must outright ban the sale of military grade weapons.

act quickly to protect us from the dangers of uncontrolled gun sales."
“I totally support stronger gun control. I just don't know how mothers have not already started Angry Mothers Against Guns.

“Only those who are properly trained and screened should be allowed to carry guns. What we need now is more vigilance and control over gun sales, and I am a full supporter of stricter guidelines for weapon sales on the state and national levels,” said Nancy Ortiz, Vladeck Houses Tenant Association President. “As it stands currently, anyone can travel to another state, walk into a Walmart, buy as many guns as possible, and transport them back to our neighborhoods,

Remember folks, the only way to allow NY City residents the peace and enjoyment of their "Theme Park" lifestyle is to stop guns. The only way to stop guns in NYC are to eliminate guns sales in the rest of the county. After all, they live in New York City and the rest of us are scum.

Maybe it's time for the rest of the US to declare New York its own country. Then they are free to ban whatever they want. Oh and if they declare war on us they'll obviously lose then they can get billions in aid like everyone else we defeat. :)

Politician is an acronym for "people that pander to the stupid masses" and obviously, unfortunately for you golocx4, you're neck of the woods is full of idiots that want to prohibit the machine rather than the operator.

Have you contacted this idiot and tried to educate him on the cause of violent gun crime is the criminal not the gun? When guns are outlawed and no one has them any more I have to wonder if the common kitchen implement is next on his list of devices to ban. Do you ever think they will get around to banning the most ferocious weapon available to the average citizen? I refer to the family car of course.

It is akin to arguing with an idiot for sure.

He is just one of many that live in or near New York City. I live 400 miles to the west. I joined Shooters Committee on Political Education to do what I can to fight to retain what few 2A rights we have in New York State. Right now the fight is centered on retaining a majority of gun friendly senators, If we loose that in November we are doomed.

Being a transplant I was shocked at how the Second Amendment does not apply in New York. All my friends who have been born and raised here don't know the difference. They have all become indoctrinated.
Bottom line - in New York state you can not handle or purchase a hand gun with out a license. Licenses take anywhere from 6 to 18 months to get. In NY City they even register Long Guns. This is what the anti gun lobby ultimately wants is 100% registration and licensing of all firearms. New York and Illinois will probably be the first to have it, then it will spread to California and New Jersey. Then to other states until the Federal Govt takes action like they tried to do in F & F.

Do you ever think they will get around to banning the most ferocious weapon available to the average citizen? I refer to the family car of course.
The family car is already highly regulated and licensed. The difference ? The family car and driving is not a constitutional right.

Can you say "they are stuck on stupid?"
They have outlawed and regulated all firearms within the City Limits. It has not worked. Now the repeating theme is that guns are easy to obtain elsewhere. (meaning your state)
That is what has to be changed to keep us all safe in our Theme Park which is NY City.

It's that "frog in boiling water" syndrome.

    Good luck with the fight.
