7 +1 has never made me feel uncomfortable with my 1911. Empty chamber equals a rock as mentioned before.

I never put one in the chamber until I'm ready to fire!
This...is foolish and shows a serious lack of understanding the probabilities of an armed self-defense situation. It takes two hands to chamber a round - you had better hope one of them is not injured or busy.

  4. Not having one in the chamber makes me feel uncomfortable. We don't live in the movies, the bad guy doesnt have lines to say before he shoots, and I promise he isn't pointing a gun with an empty chamber.

I think I am probably more proficient with a handgun than your average criminal, I train and practice to be just that. But that doesn't mean I'm going to handicap myself by not having a round chambered.

I just tried to rack the slide one handed with my least resistant gun...walther p22. Couldnt do it. There is no substitute for that second hand pulling the slide rearward.

And nobody else has the great deal you guys have in Vermont and have always had. Maybe someday we can all be like Vermont.

However, I guess it creates problems with reciprocity with other states except Arizona, Alaska and Oklahoma.

I'm willing to give up reciprocity to enjoy the freedoms I have in my state. My family lives in New Hampshire and no permit is needed for open carry!

Shouldn't I be able to load my spare ten round mags with 8.

Or do we have to drop the mag to add the seventh round.
Kids are getting arrested for wearing pro gun tshirts. Suspended from school for chewing pop tarts into gun shapes.

Taking that into account, if it was me, I'd drop the mag to load the 8th one in.

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.
