    1) This ain't Washington.
    2) "Probably" won't cut it.

There is no such "tax" in NC. He's just calling his fee a tax. There's a few gun shops that nickel and dime you to death. Gun shops aren't charged a fee to run a background check.

when I read the OP, the first thing I thought of was Hyatt's... they are always overpriced and sometimes a bit rude... they are the LAST place I go to for my shopping needs....

Can't something be done about this

Isn't there some kind of law about calling something a tax when it isn't. They have got me for 6 pistols this past year before I started wondering about this tax. That's $60.00

Well if there is no such tax on the books I would call the attorney general and let him\her know. Other than that don't shop at that store. And save your receipts that show them charging you a fee or tax that they had no right to charge you for.

There is no Brady Tax anywhere, in any state. This is just a ripoff by Hyatt in the consumers, and to think... their supposed to be one of GRNC's sponsors. I'd turn them into both the NC AG, Roy Cooper and the Greater Charlotte Better Business Bureau. No telling judt how long these theives have been ripping off the consumer!

Stupid money grabbing Washington State. There are so many damn taxes on the books here. Can you believe that someone is pushing for a progressive income tax?

Get rid of every other damn tax and then we can talk about a flat tax constitutionally limited.

I have purchased a number of weapons over the past four years here in NC from no less than five different dealers/locations. "Brady Tax" is NOT part of the line listing of what I have paid for.

Unless it is a Charlotte unique local money grab..... (and I'd most certainly inquire at the County Seat) and perfectly legal, per local ordinance...... I have not run across such blatent nonsence in my neck of the woods.

You might just have a gun dealer with a bit of larceny in his heart.

Since it's been a while, Call the shop and ask. If they maintain that they charge this, then post their info here so people will know not to do business with them.
