...And The Government Thinks They Can Run Health Care

Look at how our veterans are being treated...OUR VETERANS, who have given and sacrificed so much.
How many think our treatment will be any better if the government starts controlling our health care?

Wounded Veterans' New Fight: The VA

    Quote:
"Former Army medic Jeremy Smith was wounded and paralyzed in Afghanistan. Clearly qualified for both medical and pension benefits, Smith was surprised when a Veteran's Affairs counselor told him he wasn't disabled enough for vocational benefits."

VA to Reopen "Gulf War Illness" Cases

    Quote:
"The Veterans Affairs Department will re-examine the disability claims of what could be thousands of Gulf War veterans suffering from ailments they blame on their war service, the first step toward potentially compensating them nearly two decades after the war ended.

VA Secretary Eric Shinseki said the decision is part of a "fresh, bold look" his department is taking to help veterans who have what's commonly called "Gulf War illness" and have long felt the government did little to help them. The VA says it also plans to improve training for medical staff who work with Gulf War vets, to make sure they do not simply tell vets that their symptoms are imaginary - as has happened to many over the years."

    The Longest Battle

    Quote:
"The combined casualty total for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq now shows more than 2,900 killed and more than 20,000 wounded. Many of those who were wounded would have died on the battlefield in any previous conflict. But as CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports, those who survive terrible wounds may then face an everyday battle to get the care they need."

    Veterans Department A Bureaucratic Mess

    Quote:
"All too often, our veterans feel like they're David battling Goliath, when dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In the latest outrage involving the VA, it turns out thousands of claims for benefits weren't even opened, reports CBS News correspondent David Martin."

This is not funny and a VERY serious problem. I have been fighting with them for months. You are transfered between departments, nobody wants to take ownership of a issue to fix it, just blame someone else. When you do get a mane and direct dial number, they won't answer the phone and let it go to Voice mail and then do not return calls. OH .... then they threaten you with having your benefits shut down, or garnishee social security or Treasury Department of Income Tax returns if they think you may owe them a few bucks. There is no way in Hel* that Medical could be handled in this way...

They don't have the constitutional authority to requiring us to purchase health insurance. That alone should kill it. The courts would be all over this if they were doing their job. What's happened to the ACLU?

You've got to figure that the gov't sees the healthcare bills of the elderly coming down the pike and they just want to get rid of us ASAP. So if they can put the breaks on healthcare and make us all wait months for tests and procedures a lot of us won't be a burden any more. This is all about saving money. It's always about money. Follow the $$.

Don't forget the unions in this mess. Their retirement health care plans are killing their members. If we are forced into government plans they will save millions. Glenn Beck mentioned this last week.
