    Talking Last Night...

On Americas got talent one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard in a 10 year old no less!!!

    Jackie Evancho
"The sword dose not cause the murder, and the maker of the sword dose not bear sin" Rabbi Solomon ben Isaac 11th century
"Don't be so open minded that your brains fall out!" Father John Corapi.

I missed last night's episode. She puts many seasoned singers to shame.

Kid's got pipes, no one can doubt that, but I was bothered by her repeatedly shaking her head. Her beautiful blonde hair and her earrings easily caught the glare of the spotlight. She could have stood there like a stone and just breathed out the aria and still sparkled like a firework, but she was shaking her head like she was trying to get her hair out of her eyes so often that it was distracting. A more fluid, languid movement while at the microphone would complement that phenomenal voice much better. Also, better control on the air intake.

I generally oppose putting really young children in the spotlight to sing with the hope of them making a future for themselves on their voice, because there's a time coming when that voice has to change and if they've hung too much on that hook and can't handle the ravages of puberty, the harm done by getting their hopes up can exceed the benefit garnered to that point.

Anyone remember Billy Gilman? Yeah. Me neither.

For some reason, though, with the involvement (not just support, but involvement) of her family and her choice of material, I think she can train through her growing pains and make it to young womanhood with her pipes intact and be able to hit the profession of singing in stride.

Agreed but anyone here remember the new singing talent they featured on the hit series Bonanza, a kid called Wayne Newton.... if you look at her singing at age 8 she shows serious improvement, and with practice she could develop a fantastic adult voice.
