If it sounds like the name of a porno, it's because it is. It's also appropriate. A British company has developed a line of body armour for those parts of a soldier's body not protected by traditional body armour. They're boxer shorts.

"BCB's website claims that on a 10-mile run, the Blast Boxers did not cause undue discomfort,"

Damn... I would think that running 10 miles would be enough discomfort. Don't these guys have Hummers or trucks to drive around?

These guys have to be prepared for, running out of gas, the humvie malfunctioning or getting destroyed, or getting stranded from the group. Plus some opperations require the soldiers to be dismounted.

I understand the occasional malfunction or breakdown of a vehicle and that some missions require stealth as in no vehicles but as a former track and field star (and I say star loosely) with numerous knee operations from all those past years of training that extended running especially with gear that increases your body weight will quickly wear out and damage the cartilage. Years down the road may people such as myself have paid a heavy price for it. I am in my mid 40's and jogging was an exercise I did regularly in my youth. But today I can't do 1/2 a mile without severe pain slowing me down. It sucks getting old.
